The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 14th day of September,
1932, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by
Councilman uerow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the minutes be approved
as read. Uarried.

The folloc-ing communications were read and disposed of as indicated:

inviting city officials,
nparticipate in a conference to be held at the
Council Chamber, Huntin ark, September 22nd, 1932, at 8:00 P. I$.,
for the purpose of discussing legislation which may give relief to property
owners and cities where there has been default in the payment of principal
and interest on bonds issued to cover the costs of improvements in special
improvement districts. At the conclusion of the reading of the
communication, it was moved by Councilman (_ierow, seconded by Councilman
Selby, that the mayor of the Uity of P1 Segundo and the city Clerk be and
they are hereby authorized to attend, as representatives of the City of .:1
Segundo, the meeting to be held at Huntington Park, September 22nd, 1932,
for the purpose of discussing delinquencies in improvement district bonds
and to file their demands for their actual and necessary expenses in
connection therewith. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: - Councilmen Gerow, Krimme1, Love, Selby and N.ayor Binder.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilmen None.
ORAL C01,1011CATIONS.
Messrs. A. R. Tuck, 1. L. Brewer and Russell Hall, addressed the
Council relative to the installation of a lighting system adjacent to a
portion of the high school campus to enable the citizens of the community
to participate in night baseball games. By general consent the matter was
taken under advisement.
Pis. M. E. Beal inquired if he might be employed by the City and was
informed that while there appears to be no opening with the City at the
present time, arrangements had been made for his employment by the County
and it was recommended that he contact the County authorities at Inglewood
on Thursday, September.22nd.

The City Attorney delivered to the Council a form of contract submitted
by the Health Officer of Los M'ngeles County for the performance, by the
Health Department of Los "ngeles County, of the functions of Health Officer
within the Uity of E1 Segundo. The contract in its present form being

acceptable to the Council, it was moved by Councilman Fsrimmel, seconded
by Councilman Selby, that the following resolution be adopted:
RESOL' that the r,4ayor of the City of E1 Segundo be
and he is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of said
City, that certain agreement dated September 21st, 1932,
between the County of Los Angeles and the City of Z1 Segundo,
for the performance of all of the functions relating to
public health within the City of E1 Segundo, by the Health
Officer of Los Angeles County, for the period of one year
beginning September 1st, 1932, at the contract price of
$800.00 per year, payable $40C.00 on March 1st, 1933 and
$40C.00 September 1st, 1933; and -
a; IT FG'R=R RESOLIED, that the City Clerk of said City
be and he is hereby authorized and instructed to attest said
agreement and affix the city seal thereto.
Said resolution was carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen 2Kx Krimmel, Love, Selby and Mayor Binder.
Noes: Councilman Gerow.
Absent: None.

Moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that the
following resolution be adopted:

MEREAS, the League of California,will hold its Thirty -
Fourth Convention at San Diego, Galifornia, September 26th to
29th, 1932; and
'NE�REAS, the City of E1 Segundo is a member in good
standing of said League and entitled to representation and vote
at said Convention; and
Whereas, it appears to this Council that matters of
importance to the said League and to the cities of the State of
California will be given consideration at said Convention;
NOW THEREFORE, Be it Resolved, that Peter E. Binder,
c:syor of the City of E1 Segundo and Victor D. McCarthy, City
Clerk of said amity be and they are'hereby authorized and directed
to attend the said convention hereinbefore referred to, as
representatives of and delegates from the Gity of E1 Segundo; and
BE IT FURTF_:s'R RESOLVED, that as such delegate, Mayor
Binder be and he is hereby authorized and directed to vote for
and on behalf of the uit; of L1 Se n' do-upon any*and all matters

to vote for and on behalf of the City of E1 Segundo; and
BE IT FU?THER R ESOL'TED, that the delegates herein named
be and they are hereby authorized to file their demands with the
City of M Segundo for their a&tual.and necessary expenses in
donnection with'their attendance at said Convention.

No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting, it was
moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that the meeting
adjourn. Carried.
