October 26th, 1932.
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. M. on the above
date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by Peter
E. Binder, Mayor.
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Gerow, Krinmmel, Selby and Mayor Binder.
Councilmen Absent: Love.
READING OF MINUTES OF PIREVIOUS MEETING.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 19th day of
October, 1932 were read. No errors or omissions being noted, it
was moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that
the minutes be approved as read. Carried.
WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS.
The following conaunications were read and disposed of as
indicated:
MARIE J. WOLFRAM, Chairman of the Evening Division of the
E1 Segundo Woman's Club, dated October 25th, 1932, thanking the
Council, on behalf of said Club, for the use of the Council Chamber
on the evening of October 24th; 1932. Ordered filed.
LOS ANGELES COUNTY LEAGUE OF MUNICIPALITIES, dated October
24th, 1932, advising that a meeting of said League will be held at
Montebello,. November 10th, at which meeting Governor James Rolph, Jr.
will be the principal speaker and inviting all municipal officials
of all Southern California cities to be present. Ordered filed.
LOS ANGELES COUNTY LEAM OF MUNICIPALITIES, dated October
17th, 1932, inviting the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo to
affiliate with said League. Ordered filed.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS.
Mr. Homer Bunce made verbal application for employment by the
City and was instructed to confer at a later date with the Street
Superintendent.
REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITrZES.
The YGeyor announced that he had made a personal.investigation
of the matter contained in Resolution No. 1662 of the City of Monterey
Park, copy of which was subMitted.to this Council for its consideration
with a letter addressed to the Mayor under date of September 23rd,
1932; that his investigation disclose' that some cities having
delinquencies in special assessments taxes similar to the City of
Monterey Park are in accord with the provisions of the Resolution,
while others not so affected, look upon it with disfavor. After brief
discussion it was decided to take no action at this time and the
communication was ordered filed.
The City Clerk then read to the Council a letter received by
the Mayor from Automobile Club of Southern California, dated September

8th, 1932, which letter, with its enclosures, referred to the State
Highway program announced by the Automobile Club of Southern California
and the California State Automobile Association. No action was taken
respecting the subject matter of this communication and the same was
ordered filed.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS AND SPECIAL COMMITTEES.
The City Engineer.announced receipt of a letter from S. V. Cortelyou,
Division Engineer, State Highway Commission, advising that the plans
and specifications heretofore presented to the State Division of
Highways for approval, had been approved subject to changes in two
minor particulars; that the changes had been made as suggested and
amended specifications forwarded to Mr. Cortelyou.
None.

Moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that
the demands be allowed and warrants drawn on and paid out of the
General Fund covering the same. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Mayor Binder.
Noes: Councilmen None.

None.
ADJOURNNENT.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting,
it was moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that
the meeting adjourn. Carried.
