Councilmen Present: Gerow, Krimmel, Love and Mayor Binder.
Councilmen Absent: Selby.
READING OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 9th day of November,
1932, were read. No errors or omissions appearing,
Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Love, that the minutesdbey
approved as read. Carried.
4RITTEN COMMUNICATIONS.
The following communications were read and disposed of as
indicated:

ORAL COMMUNICATIONS.
Messrs. Halleck hull1barger and J. P,
Council respecting employment'by the City of h Seon addressed the
Hullibarger was informed that 'his name 'had •been referred to the County
and that undoubtedly'he would'receive notification soon that he would
be employed for ten days. Mr. Thompson was informed that his
residence in the City of yl Segundo was of such short duration that
he was not eligible for employment under the Council's policy.

The City Attorney reported 'having.had'conference W3th"b essrs.
Selfridge and. Co s llin of the Right of.Way Department of the Standard
Oil Company relative to certaih easements which will be granted the

opening and improving of Sepulveda Boulevardt within with

Segundo, and that he anticipates matters with respect to this' E1
instrument will be adjusted shortly.
'I 'he City Clerk'reported "receipt of a letter from General
Chemical Company to the effect-that papers heretofore submitted to
said Company by him had been checked by its 'Engineering Division and
found in order and that the price proposed to be paid for the property

to be taken appears to be reasonable and that while some delay may
be experienced in delivery of the papers to the City of El Segundo
by reason of the routine required to be followed, there is no reason
to anticipate any objection on the part of General Chemical Company
and it is expected that the document will be delivered to the City
within a short time.
The City Clerk reported also that he has information to the
effect that all documents essential to the opening of Sepulveda
Boulevard, with the exception of those of the General Chemical
Company and one from the Standard Oil Company, have been deposited
in the escrow opened for the purpose of assembling all deeds,
easements, etc. and he recommended that the City Attorney and the
City Clerk make an examination of the same, so as to be able to
report thereon to the City Council at its next regular meeting.
Thereupon it was agreed that said officials would make such
examination the latter part of this or the beginning of the following
week.
The City Engineer reported that the County of Los Angeles
had officially approved the proposed work of removing sand from portions
of the Coast Boulevard and would furnish assistance in accordance with
its plan in the doing of said work.

Moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that the
demands be allowed, and warrants drawn on and paid out of the respective
funds covering the same. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, krimmel, Love and Mayor Binder.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilman Selby.

Moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that that
certain street deed, dated November 16th, 1932, executed by Walter Hyde and
1:ary L. Hyde, conveying to the City of El Segundo for public street
purposes the Easterly 25.03 feet of the South 67 feet of the North 92 feet
of Lot 9, Block 98, U Segundo Sheet No. 3, in the City of E1 Segundo,
as per map recorded in flop nook 20, Pages 22 and 23 of baps, Records of
Los Angeles County, California, and the property conveyed thereby, be and
the same are hereby accepted on-behalf of the City of E1 Segundo, and the
City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to affix his certificate thereto,
indicating the acceptance of same by this Council, and to cause the said
instrument to be filed for record in the office of the County Recorder of
Los lingeles County, California. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Krimmel, Love and Mayor Binder.

Absent: Councilman Selby.
The Mayor drew attention to the fact that sometime ago he had
received from the Automobile Club of Southern California a letter requesting
the adoption by this Council of a certain resolution approving certain
proposals of said Club and the California State Automobile Association, for
submission to the next Legislature, respecting ways and means for the
maintenance and development of secondary highways out of present State
highway revenuy that he has learned that the League of California
:iunicipalities will propose to the next Legislature a bill respecting the
same subject and that he feels that the automobile clubs referred to should
cooperate with the cities for the adoption of such legislation as they will
propose.
It was thereupon moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman
Uerow and unanimously carried, that the City Clerk of the City of :l Segundo
be and he is hereby authorized and directed'to address a letter to the
Automobile Club of Southern California,•advising said'Club that inasmuch as
the League of California Municipalities is going- before the Legislature of
the State of California with a program having for its purpose an equitable
distribution of gasoline tax revenue mono among the cities
and the counties of the State, this Council feels that all cities should
support the League in its endeavors and recommending to said Club that it
confer with the vasoline Tax Committee of said League, so that all interested
entities may unify their efforts on common ground.
No further business appearing to be transacted it this meeting, it
was moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that the meeting
adjourn. Carried.
