A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7 :00 o'clock P. &i. on the above date,
in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City by Peter E. Binder,
Mayor.
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Grow, Krimmel, Selby and Mayor Binder.
Councilmen Absent: Love.
READING OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS =TING.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 18th day of May, 1932,
were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Councilman
Selby, seconded by Councilman riri=nel, that the minutes be approved a
read. Carried.
WRITT N C0.'.'"'XNICATIONS.
The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated:
3UR1dS- McDON1ZLL- SMITH, Consulting Engineers, dated N,ay 21st, 1932,
advising of the number of cities for which they have executed engineering
engagements with respect to public utilities, soliciting consideration
of their firm should this Council contemplate the employment of consulting
engineers and advising that said Company will be pleased to send members
of the Council a complimentary copy of statistics on revenues, operating
expense, rates and profits over one hundred municipally owned plants,
which said Companybas compiled. Ordered filed.
R. H. MOULTON & COMPA7- , dated May 19th, 1932, offering to sell to
the City of El Segundo City of El Segundo Eater Works 5% Bonds of the par
valu° of ;10,000.00 for the sum of 49700.00 and accrued interest. By
direction of the Mayor the matter was referred to the Finance Committee
of the Council for consideration.
ORAL COP.:;UNICATIOTZ.
Mr. C. P. Grabill and Mr. J. W. Anderson, each addressed the Council
relative to his employment by the City.
Ytr. Russell Hall, Commander of the American Legion, requested permission
to use the diaphone some Sunday morning between now and the end of June,
for the purpose of sounding a call in connection with the American Legion's
annual Emergency 1obilization, the purpose of such mobilization being to
determine the availability of men for duty in the event of a catastrophe or
widespread emergency. On motion of Councilman Grow, seconded by Councilman
.3elby, which carried unanimously, permission was granted to American Legion
to use the dia ::hone on some Sunday morning in connection with its emergency
mobilization programm as outlined by XLr. Russell Hall.

The City l- ttornev informed the Council that the preparation of deeds in
connection with the Sepulveda joulevard acquisition has been completed; th!t
the instruments have been delivered to the Uity Engineer for the purpose of
checking the descriptions and that this work is practically completed.
