D., County Health Officer, dated Liay 19th, 1932, advising that the present contract between the County of Los iingeles and the City of El Se -undo for the performance of the duties of Health Officer within the City of L1 Segundo by the former, will terminate June 30th, 1932, and recommending the renewal of said contract. By general consent the matter was taken under advisement until the next meeting, of this Council. 280K, L. A. PAVINn, CO. INC., dated May 4th, 1932, requesting an extension of sixty days time for the completion of its contract with the City of E1 Segundo for the paving of Imperial Highway within the City of E1 Segundo., It appearing that at a certain meeting of this Council held May 4th, 1932, an extension of fourteen days time was granted the L. A. Paving Co. Inc. for the completion of its contract, and that therefore a forty -six dey extension from this time would suffice to comply with the request, it was moved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Love, that L. A. Paving Co. Inc. be and it is hereby granted forty -six days extension of time in which to complete the work contemplated under its contract with -the City of E1 Segundo, dated December 8th, 1931, for the improvement of Imperial Highway within portions of the City of E1 Segundo and the City of Los Angeles. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen : rerow, Krimmel, Love, Selby and Layor Binder. Noes: Councilmen None. Absent: Councilmen None. S20MARD OIL COILTANY OF CALI ITTIA, dated May 6th, 1932, submitting for consideration of the Council a form of contract and form of resolution for use in connection with agreements it will be necessary for the City of E1 Segundo and said Company to enter into respecting matters having to do with the opening, widening and improving of Sepulveda Boulevard within the City of E1 Segundo. The City Clerk informed the Council that during the fiscal year 1930 -31 and to date during the current fiscal year, no monies had been transferred from the General Fund to the Insurance Reserve Fund of the City of E1 Segundo as contemplated by the Council, whereupon it was moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that the City Clerk and the City Treasurer of the City of E1 Segundo be and they are hereby authorized and directed to transfer from the General Fund of said City to the Insurance Reserve Fund thereof, the sum of $10,000.00. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Krimmel, Love, Selby and Mayor Binder. Noes: Councilmen None. Absent: Councilmen None. The City Clerk informed the Council that the University of Southern California contemplates sending a representative to the Council Chamber on Wednesday evening, May 18th, for the purpose of explaining in detail the purposes of the Institute of Government, which will convene at the University, June 13th to 17th, inclusive, 1932. After discussion of the matter, the Clerk was instructed to inform the University that although the Council feels it will not desire to participate, nevertheless it will be glad to learn more about the Institute, if it is the University's pleasure. Moved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that the following resolution be adopted: WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore informally con- sidered the discontinuance of certain telephone service formerly had by the City of E1 Segundo and instructed the City Clerk of the City of El Segundo to order the removal of certain telephones from certain of the offices and residences of officers of the City of E1 Segundo; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the action of the Gity Clerk in ordering the discontinuance of telephone service for the account of the City of E1 Segundo in the office of the City Judge, formerly Telephone No. 17; in the residence of the City Judge, formerly Telephone No. 25; in the City Hall Auditorium, formerly Telephone No. 21; in the residence of Police Officer Du. H. McIntire, formerly Telephone No. 206, be and the same is hereby ratified and approved; AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in the case of the telephone heretofore maintained by the City at the residence of the Assist. Superintendent of the Plater Department, which said telephone bears No. 377 on the E1 Segundo Exchange, the City of E1 Segundo will hereafter pay not to exceed the sum of $2.50 per month toward the rental of such telephone, same to be paid to the person paying the bill to said Telephone Company, upon proper demand by such person, having attached thereto receipted statement from the said Company, showing payment of the total bill for the current month.covered by such statement, this arrangement to continue until the further order of this Council. The foregoing resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Krimmel, Love, Selby and Mayor binder. Noes: Councilmen None. Absent: Councilmen None. No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting, it was moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the meeting adjourn. Carried.
