March 30th, 1932.
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California,
was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. M. on the above date, in the Council
Chamber of the City Hall of said City by George Love, Mayor.
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Binder, Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and h4iyor Love.
Councilmen Absent: None.
READING OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 23rd day of March, 1932,
were read, without error or omission being noted, and were approved as
read upon motion of Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Krimme1, which
carried.
WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS.
The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated:
SANTA FE RAILROAD, dated March 25th, 1932, advising that pursuant to
the Clerk's letter of March 18th, said Company would improve the condition
of the crossing at E1 Segundo Boulevard and Inglewood - Redondo Road; also
that the said Company will construct a header rail and concrete pavement
across Rosecrans Avenue crossing. Ordered filed.
J. L. POMEROY, M. D., Health Officer, dated March 25th, 1932, being
a report of the activities of said Department within the City of E1 Segundo,
as Health Officer of said City during the month of February, 1932.

WILLIAM J. LOCKE, advising that his office as Secretary - Manager of the
League of California Municipalities terminated ktarah 13th, 1932, and
advising that he continues to remain at the service of the cities - members
of said League, his office being located at No. 815 Mills Building, San
Francisco, Cal. Ordered filed.

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS AND SPECIAL COMMITITFS.
The City Clerk reported that Dr. 1i. S.'Gough and nor. George A. Johnson,
owners of real property betsresn'Arizona Drive and Inglewood- Redbndo Road,
North of E1 Segundo Boulevard, had regiuested that the Council give thought
to the construction of water line in the vicinity of their properties, in
order to afford fire protection. By general consent the matter was
referred to the Superintendent of the Water Department for investigation
and report to this Council.
The Clerk drew attention to the fact that the contract between the City
of El Segundv•and George Kitahat-a. of."teeia, for the purchase and sale of
garbage, expixgs.May 10th, 1932; whereupon it was move8'.by'touncilmsn Binder,
seconded by Councilman GeroR,'that the City Clerk be and'he is hereby
authorized to advertise for bids in accordance with the law, for the sale
of garbage collected by the City of -b1 Segundo within said City. Carried by
the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Binder, Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Mayor Love.

1'he City Clerk reported to the Council that Messrs. Paul E. Walker,
Tod Mason and R. C. Mason, appraisers heretofore appointed by this Council
for the purpose of determining values of real property within the City of
El Segundo, to be acquired by said kity in the matter of the opening and
widening of Arizona Drive, had filed with him their report, which is dated
March 29th, 1932, and which shows the names of the respective owners, the
value of the land to be taken and the damages allowed certain of the property
owners enumerated. After a brief discussion of the report, the Clerk, by
general consent, was instructed to request Mr, Paul E. Walker, one of the
said appraisers, to meet with the Council on Monday, April 4th, 1932, at
the hour of 4 ;30 o'clock P. M. for a discussion of the said report.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS.
Moved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that
Ordinance No. 183., entitled:
AN ORDMUNCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNW, CALIFORNIA,
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 83 OF SAID CITY, ENTITLED:
"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA,
REGULATING ELECTRICAL BUSINESS, THE INSTALLATION,
ARRANGEMENTS, ALTERATION, REPAIR, USE, MAINTENANCE,
AND OPERATION OF ELECTRIC WIRING, ELECTRIC FIXTURES
AND OTHER ELECTRIC APPLIANCES AND EaUIPuENT IN THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO; PROVIDING FOR ELECTRIC PERMITS
AND INSP':'CTIONS AND FIXING TEE FEES =REFOR; AND
PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE,"
BY ADDING A NEW SECTION THERETO TO BE KNOWN AND DESIGNATED
AS SECTION 4410
which was introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council
held on the 23rd day of March, 1932, and reread at this meeting, be
adopted. Carried by the following vote:

NEW BUSINESS.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this msssion, it was
moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the meeting
adjourn until Monday, the 4th day of April, 1932, at the hour of 4:40 o'clock
