California, was called to order at 7 :00 o'clock P. L. on the above
date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by the _"savor,

1932, were read. No errors or omissions apearing, it was moved by

1032, being a report of the activities of the Los Angeles County Health
Departent as Health Officer of the Cit-,. of E1 Segundo during the month
of January, 1D32. Ordered filed.
STA'_MARD BRIG, CCITA:IY, dated February 27th, 1932, advising that
said Company is considering the building of an incinerator at its
Inglewood plant for use of the several cities in the Centinella Valley,
and asI ->ing if this City would be interested or is in need of the use of
such an incinerator. The *natter was discussed by the Council and the
letter ordered filed for future reference.
I.:Ai.;T B. BYATTY, Chief Clerk, Board of Supervisors, Los Angeles
County, dated February 24th, 1932, with which was enclosed a copy of
resolution adopted by said Board of Supervisors on February 23rd,
authorizing an appropriation. of :12,000.00 towards the improvement of
Rosecrans Avenue within the City of El SeL--undo. Moved by Councilman
Gerow, seconded by Council: Krimr:el, that the following resolution be
adopted:
RESOLIED, that this co;~nunication be received and filed,
and that pursuant to the representation therein contained, the
City Clerk is hereby authorized and instructed to notify the
Board of Supervisors of Los i�ngeles County, that the City Council
wili proceed forthwith with the execution of the work therein
contemplated, by force account, and that the City Council hereby
desi_ ates' as a fund. in which-to receive the m:)nies a 'fund to be
__nown as "Rosecrans l�venue improvement Fund.-- 193 `I and that
upon receipt of said monies,-s,_-=e shall-be paid into said fund;
and that the Street Superintendent be and he is hereby authorized
and instructed to employ the necessary labor and assistance on
force account, and purchase the necessary materials and supplies
to construct and complete the said proposed improvement of
Rosecrans Avenue referred to in said communication, according, to
Standard Grading and Paving Specifications No. 1 of the City of
El Segundo; and

BE IT FUt3TI -MR RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby
authorized and instructed to transmit a certified copy of
this Resolution to the'Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles
County.
Said resolution was adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Mayor Love.

L. A. Fh7INI COLTAITY, INC., dated IMarch find, 1932, requesting
a sixty dad* extension of time in which to complete the work contemplated
under said Company's contract with the City of El Segundo dated December
8th, 193-1. Moved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Gerow,-
• that the following resolution be adopted:
ILIE -REAS, on the 8th-day of December, 1931, L. A. raving
Company, Inc. entered into contract with the City of 21
Segundo for the improvement of Imperial Highway within the
City of E1 Segundo and'the City of Los Angeles, said contract
limiting the time for the comfletion of the work contemplated
therein to ninety days; and
r=1,"°z, unavoidable delay has been caused owing to the
extreme rainy season during the past ninety days and the said
work will not be completed Nithin the said ninety* days allowed
under said contract;
'IT O1-' TER�]FOM, SL IT RESOLVED, that,- it being the opinion
of this Council that the best interests of the City of E1
Segundo and the City of Los Angeles would be served by extending
the time within which to complete the work contemplated under
that certain contract between the City of El Segundo and the
L. A. Paving Company, Inc., the said time for the completion
of said work is hereby" extended a period of sixti* days beyond
the terrai nation date set forth in said contract.
