1932 JUN 01 CC MIN288K oo- y El Segundo, California. Tune let, 1932. A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. M. on the above date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by Peter E. Binder, Mayor. ROLL CALL. Councilmen Present: Gerow, Kri 1, Love, Selby and WAyor Binder, Councilmen Absent: None. READING OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING. The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 25th day of May, 1932, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the minutes be approved as read. Carried. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS. The following communications were read and disposed of an indicated: T. L. POMEROY, M. D., County Health Officer, dated May 26th, 19329 being a report of the activities of Los Angeles County Health Department within the City of E1 Segundo as Health Officer of said City during the month of April, 1932. Ordered filed. R. T. BURB'Y & CO., Certified Public Accountants, dated May 27th, 1932, a soliciation for employment to audit the records of the City of E1 Segundo. Ordered filed. None. ORAL CO)ATUNICATIONS. REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES. Councilman Krimme1, reporting on behalf of the Finance Committee hf the City Council with respect to the offer of R. H. Moulton & Co., of May 19th, 1932, to sell to the City of El Segundo $10,000.00 par value City of E1 Segundo Water Works 8% Bonds for the stmt of $9700.00 and accrued interest, which said matter was referred to said Committee at the last regular meeting of the Council, stated that its recommendation is that if the bonds offered are purchased, that the purchase be made with funds from the Insurance Reserve Fund of the City of E1 Segundo, and that all accruals from said purchase thereafter be credited to the said insurance Reserve Fund of the City of El Segundo. Following consideration of the matter, action thereon was deferred until the Order of Unfinished -business at the next regular meeting of the Council. None. REPORTS OF OFFICERS & SPECIAL CON ITTEES. Ordinance No.' 184, ent itlerd: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 12 OF SAID CITY, ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO LICENSING AND REGULATING CERTAIN KINDS OF BUSINESS TRANSACTED AND CARRIED ON IN SAID CITY AND FIXING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF", PASSED AND ADOPTED ON THE 14TH DAY OF MARCH, 1917, BY ADDING TWO NEW SECTIONS TRERETO TO HE KNOWN AS SECTIONS 34a AND Ab, K. 28s which was introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 25th day of May, 1932, and reread at this meeting, be adopted. The City Clerk reported that in order to avoid the necessity of employing additional help in his office, which it would be necessary to do owing to enlarged payrolls and other unusual work requiring almost constant clerical and stenographic help, 'he had arranged with his deputy, Neva m.'Elsey, to divide her vacation and requested that she be granted permission to take one week thereof beginning June 20th, 1932. 'thereupon it was moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman uerow, that'Neft Me Elsey be and she is hereby granted one week of her annual two weeks vacation, beginning June 20th, 1932. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Arimmel, Love, Selby and mayor binder. Noes: Councilmen None. Absent: councilmen None. moved by councilman Arimmel, seconded by Councilman Selby, that recently installed electrical mdtor equipment of'the City of N1 Segundo be insured and that the saws be added by endorsement to Kzlzz2:bm existing electrical equipment insurance policies of the City of Sl Segundo.
