A regular meeting bf the City Council of the City of Ll Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. r.. on the above
date, in t$e Council Chamber of the City Hall of said Uity, by
George Love, Mayor.
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Binder, Gerow, Selby and ivayor Love.
Councilmen Absent: Krimmel.
READING OF LiINUTES OF F'lEVIOUS IvZET=,.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 10th day of
February, 1932, were read. No errors or omissions appearing► it
was moved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that
the minutes be approved as read. Carried.

J. I.. POTTROY, N. D., Los Angeles County Health Officer,
dated r'ebruary 16th, 1932, advising that temporarily service has
been suspended iXi relation to treatment clinics organized in
connection with jocel medical ihen at various health centers throughout
the County, due to the fact that funds for this purpose have been
exhausted, mainly as the result of the present disturbed condition_
of economics, increasirr the number of demands on the service;
advising, also that the matter has been reported to the 3oard of
Supervisors of Los iingeles County.and that the wrier anticipates
action to meet the situation will be taken shortly. Ordered filed:

The City Clerk reported that pursuant to previous instruction
of the Council, a meetin_- of all of the owners of property required to
be taken by the City oft Segundo in the widenin; and improvement of
arizona Drive in the Cit -7 of E1 Segundo, was arranged for and was held
in the office of is. Herbert E. Lapham, Kerckhoff Building, Los kngeles,
on Mlonday, February 15th, at 2 :00 P. K.; that the Clerk was unable to
attend said meeting, m; °inF. to illness and that Councilman Gerow attended

in his stead as representative of the U-ity of E1 Segundo,
Councilman Gerow thereupon reported having attended said meeting,
at which all interests were represented; that the proposed plan to
empl6y appraisers to vies, and report upon the value of the respective
parcels to be taken by the City met with enthusiastic approval of those
present and that they unanimously nominated tire We We Mines for
appointment as appraiser.
Discussion then ensued as to the appraiser who might be nominated
by the City of E1 Segundo and the applications of Marry G. Cooper and
Henry J. 2,nderson we-^e considered. It appearing that bar. Cooper had been
emplo�_ed in a similar capacity by the City of Manhattan Beach in connection
with the riderine and improvement of Sepulveda Boulevard within said City,
it was felt that Ur. Cooper's experience in that connection might inure to
the'benefit of the City of E1 Segundo were he employed by this City,
whereupon it was moved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Gerow,
that the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized to arrange for a
conference between Mr. Harry G. Cooper of Recondo Beach and this Council,
to be held Thursday evening, February 18th, at the hour of 7:00 o'clock
P. Y. at the Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of E1 Segundo.
Carried.
The City Clerk announced that-the American Legion desired the use
of the Council Chamber of the City Hall, Thursday, February 18th, 1932,
for the purpose of holding a meeting to consider unemployment relief,
whereupon it was moved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman
Gerow, that this permission be granted, no charge to be made therefor.
