December 7th, 1932.
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City_of E1 Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. M. on the above
date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by Peter
E. Binder, Mayor.
ROLL CALL.,
Councilmen_ Present: Gerow,:{rimmel, Love, Selby and Mayor Binder.
Councilmen Absent: None.
READING OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS =1 TINS.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 30th day of November,
1932, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by
Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the minutes be
approved as read. Carried.
V7RITTEN COZVNICATIONS.
The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated:
M. TELL:.FSON, President, Los Angeles County League of Municipalities,
dated December 6th, 1932, inviting all members of the City Council to
attend a meeting of said League, to be held at %ontebello, California,
December 8th, 1932, at 6:30 P. M... at which meeting the particular topic
for discussion is the question of allocation of the gasoline tax
directly to cities. All State Senators and Assemblymen have been invited
to attend said meeting. By general consent the :Mayor and City Clerk
were delegated to attend the meeting on behalf of the pity of E1 Segundo.
ROBYN J. LINCOLN, dated December 7th, 1932, being an application
for employment as Clerk in the Water Department of the City of El Segundo.

ORAL COI&UNICATIONS.
Mr. Leslie Johnson addressed the Council relative to employment and
was instructed to confer with the Street Superintendent on Thursday,
December 8th,

REPORTS OF STANDING C0I,11ITTEES.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS AND SPECIAL COMMITTEES.
The City Clerk reported having received a letter from Santa Fe Land
Improvement Company indicating that said Company had amended its escrow
instructions to conform with the instructions of the Ci.ty of El Segundo
filed in Escrow E -4112 with Secutity Title Insurance and Guarantee Company
co4cerning Sepulveda Boulevard.right of.way acquisition.
'The City Attorney reported that•a representative -of. the Standard
Oil Company had met him as he entered the Council Chamber this evening
and that conversation developed that said Company's deed respecting
Sepulveda Boulevard right of way over and across said Company's property
requires further study and correction on the part of said Company; that
in view of the fact that nothing would be gained by presentation of the
instrument this date, he recommended that the instrument be corrected
during the coming week and presented to the Council at its meeting to be
held December 14th, 1932.
The City Attorney advised also having received letters from Southern
California Gas Company and Southern California Edison Company relative to
easements they possess over and across portions of Standard Oil Company
property whdch will be required by the City of 11 Segundo in the Sepulveda
Boulevard proceeding and that the data contained in such letters will be
given further study by him.
PAYING BILLS.
The following demands, having had the approval of the Committee on
Finance and Records, were read:

Moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that the
demands be allowed and warrants drawn on and paid out of the respective funds
covering the same. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Krimmel, Love, Selby and Mayor Binder.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilmen None.
NEW BUSINESS.
Loved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that the
Street Superintendent be and he is hereby authorized and directed to oil
certain of the fills adjacent to the roadway of Imperial Highway between
Main Street and Inglewood - Redondo Read within the pity of hl Segundo, as
recommended by said Street Superintendent, at a total cost of not to
exceed 4165.00. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Krimmel, Love, Selby and Mayor Binder.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilmen None.
A portion of the Civics Class of El Segundo High School Seniors, with
their teacher Prof. treagher, were observers at this meeting and at this
point the t.:ayor welcomed the group on behalf of the %�'ouneil. Thereafter
the i:,ayor answered several questions propounded by Prof. ivieagher respecting
government of the City of E1 Segundo and the City Attorney made a brief
address, after which the students and their instructor retired from the
council Chamber.
No further business appeasing to be transacted at this meeting, it
was moved by councilman Selby, seconded by-Councilman grow,. that the
meeting adjourn. Carried.
