August 3rd, 1932.
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7 :00 o'clock P. M. on the above date,
in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by Peter E. Binder,
Mayor.
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Gerow, Krimmel, Love and Mayor Binder.
Councilmen Absent: Selby.
READING OF MIN = OF PREVIOUS MEETING.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 27th day of July,
1932, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by
Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Love, that the minutes be
approved as read. Carried.
WRITTEN COUNUNICATIONS.
The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated:
TAX PAYERS MgWAL COUNCIL OF LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, dated July
27th, 1932, to which was attached a resolution approved and authorized
to be sent to this Council by the Tax Payers Central Council, at a meeting
held at Los Angeles, July 20th, 1932. Ordered filed.
GEORGE W. C. BAKER, President, Department of Mayors and Councilmen,
of the League of California Municipalities, dated July 30th, 1932,
advising of meetings of said Department to be held prior to the fall
convention of said League and requesting that some member or members of
the City Council be delegated to attend one of these meetings. Its
communication was ordered filed and the Mayor indicated that he and such
other councilmen as cared to accompany him would attend the meeting to be
held at Santa Ana, California, August 13th, 1932.
COUNTY HEALTH OFFICER, dated August let, 1932, advising that recent
water samples taken from the City were very good according to bacteriological
reports from the county laboratory. Ordered filed.
COUNTY HEALTH DEPAR'T'MENT, dated August 1st, 1932, being a report of
the activities of said Department within the City of 61 Segundo as health
Officer of said 1,ity during the month of June, 1932. Ordered filed.
ORAL COMMiJNICATIONS .
Mr. J. F. McCullough, President, El Segundo Chamber of Commerce, on
behalf of said organization, advised the Councilthat its supply of maps of the
City of E1 Segundo is exhausted and that the distribution of these maps being
the only form of advertising of the City used by the Chamber of Commerce, the
Chamber desired to procure a new supply if the City would authorize the .
correction to date of the plate from which the maps have been made. During
the discussion which followed, the City Engineer indicated that the plate
was made from a tracing several years old and that a new tracing is being
made and will be completed within a reasonably short time. ite Mayor there-
upon advised Mr. McCullough that the Chamber of Commerce will be advised
and the matter gone into further upon the completionof the work of the
Engineering Department on the new tracing.
