1931 SEP 16 CC MINK,16V El Segundo, California. September 16th, 1931. A regular meeting of the Uity Council of the city of El Segundo, California, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. M. on the above date, in the Uouncil Chamber of the City hall of said City, by ueorge Love, Mayor. ROLL CALL. Councilmen Present: Hindu, Gerow, Krimmiel, Selby and Love. Councilmen Absent: None. READING MINUTES OF PFSVIOUS MMTING. The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting held on the 10th day of September, 1931, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Uouncilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the minutes be approved as read. Carried. WRITTEN C0MNICATIONS. The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated: OTTO H. DUELKE, City Clerk, Inglewood, California, advising of a meeting to be held at the Uity riall in Inglewood, Tuesday, September 29th, 1931, at 7:30 o'clock P. M., for the purpose of discussing ways and means of rubbish disposal after collection, with the thought in mind that an incinerator might be built jointly by the various cities for such a purpose and inviting representatives-from the City of El Segundo. It was recommended by Councilman Binder that the mayor appoint representatives to such a meeting,-whereupon the mayor announced that -all of the members of the Council, the Uity Engineer and the Uity Clerk would attend such meeting, if possible -for them to do so. OtI '-Ac - Councilman Gerow introduced Ordinance No. 179, entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ME CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD OCTOBER 29, 1931, WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF "ACT OF 1927 MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 1 OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO" OF SAID CITY AS DESCRIED HEREIN AND PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE QlaAL_IFIED VOTERS OF SAID DISTRICT OF THE PROPOSITION OF ISSUING BONDS OF SUCH DISTRICT IN THE AMOUNT OF $146,816.00 TO PAY A PART OF THE COSTS AND EXPENSES OF ACQUIRING LANDS, RIGHTS OF WAY AND EASEENTS NECESSARY IN ORDER TO WIDEN AND EXTEND THAT CERTAIN PUBLIC STREET COMMONLY KNOWN AS ARIZONA DRIVE BETWEEN COLLINGWOOD AVENUE (ALSO KNOWN AS IMPERIAL HIGHWAY) AND ROSECRANS AVENUE WITHIN SAID MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, AND THE IMPROVEMENT OF SAID STREET BY THE CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION UPON SAID STREET AS THE SAME MAY EXIST AFTER IT IS W D AND EXTENDED OF CEMENT CONCRETE CURBS AND GUTTERS AND OF ASPHALTIC PAVEMENT FORTY FEET IN WIDTH ON A PORTION OF SAID STREET AND THE IMPROVEMENT WITH OIL OR OIL MACADAM OF OTHER PORTIONS OF THE ROADWAY OF SAID STREET AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF APPURTENANCES NECESSARY AND /OR CONVENIENT TO SAID IMPROVEMENT, which was read. M. be and it is hereby granted permission to use the City Hall Auditorium on the evening of October 16th, 1931, the customary rental charge of $3.75 to be made therefor. Carried. Moved by Councilmen Selby, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that the purchase of four 30 z 3J tires and two 4.50 s 21 tires, for use of the Street Department and two 30 z 3J tires for use of the Water Department, at a total cost of not to exceed $60.00, be and the same is hereby authorized. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Binder, Gerow, Srimmel, Selby and Love. Noes: None. Absent: None. No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting, it was moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the meeting adjourn. Carried.
