October 28th, 1931
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. M. on the above date,
in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by George Love,
Mayor.
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Binder, Gerow, Kri7nel, Selby and Love.
Councilmen Absent: None.
READING OF hiIIMJTES OF PREVIOUS IMETING.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 21st day of October,
1931, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by
Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the minutes be
approved as read. Carried.
WRITTEN COh'I::tJPIICATIONS.
The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated:
CO -LINTY OF LOS ANGELES, BOARD OF SUP RVISORS, dated October 21st,
1931, advising of a meeting to be held for the purpose of discussing
the adoption of an ordinance by the County of Los Angeles and the
incorporated cities within the County, requiring certain felons to
register upon entering the County. Ordered filed.
LOS ANGELES COUNTY LEAGUE OF LUNICIPALITIES, dated October 21st,
1931, requesting the Council's cooperation in supplying certain
engineering data required for a study said organization is making
and inviting the Council to attend its meeting to be held in the City
of TuJunga, Thursday, November 19th, 1931. The communication was
ordered filed and the Engineer requested to supply the data asked for.
I-T N BL%MR, Secretary of Tanda Camp Fire Group, dated October
27th, 1931, thanking the Council for fixing the rear yard of the Camp
Fire quarters. Ordered filed.
COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, DEPARMENT OF HEAL11H, dated October 23rd,
1931, reporting respecting the activities of said Department within
the City of E1 Segundo during the month of September, 1931. Ordered
filed.
PETITION OF LAURA B. 121REDITH and fourteen others, protesting
the construction of a certain improvement as specified by Resolution
of Intention No. 243 of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo.
Following the reading of the petition, a lengthy discussion was had,
at the conclusion of which it was moved by Councilman Binder, seconded
by Councilman Krinmel, that the said petition be received and filed for
future reference. The motion carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Binder, Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Love.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.

The City Clerk drew the Council's attention to the fact that on the
6th day of 1a y, 1931, it passed a resolution authorizing the purchase of
the Northerly 25 feet of Lot 5, Block 50, E1 Segundo Sheet No. 2, as per
map recorded in Book 18, Page 145 of Maps, in the office of the County
Recorder of Los Angeles County, California, which said resolution fixed the
purchase price of said land and recited also that the property would
be accepted subject to a special sewer assessment provided the same
did not exceed 450.00; that Policy of Title Insurance No. 435068 of
California Title Insurance Company, furnished in connection with the
said purchase, shows -an unpaid sewer assessment of $57.83; that ;634.68
of said last n�entioned amount represents principal and that $23.15
thereof represents interest which will accrue to the date of maturity
on the unpaid balance of principal. After discussion of the matter,
it was moved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Selby, that
the following resolution be adopted:
on the 6th day of Lay, 1931, this
council passed its resolution now of record at Pages
K -86 and K -87, minutes of the proceedings of this
Council, authorizing the purchase of the Northerly
25 feet of Lot 5, Mock 50, E1 Segundo Sheet No. 2,
as per Book 16, Page 145 of maps, Hecords of Los
Angeles County, California, and agreed to accept said
property clear excepting a balance of not to exceed
450.00 on special sewer assessment heretofore levied
against the said real property; and
74'EEREAS, it appears that pursuant to said
resolution a deed to the said property has been delivered
to the City of Ll Segundo, together with a Policy of Title
Insurance issued by the California Title Insurance Company,
!do. 435088, which latter document shows the said property
subject to Assessment iio. 51, Amount 457.83, for improving
Grand Avenue and other Streets under Resolution No. 118
of the Board of Trustees of the City of El Segundo; and
VrMPMAS, at the time of the passing of the reso-
lution aereinbefore recited as having been passed Lay 6th,
1931, it was the intent of this Council that the 450.00
therein referred to should apply to the balance of principal
due upon the assessment therein mentioned and that the
457.83 referred to in the Policy of 'Title insurance her6in-
before mentioned embraces both principal and interest to
the date of maturity of the said assessment;
NOW THER:FORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that said real
property and the said Policy of Title Insurance be and the
same are hereby accepted notwithstanding previous action
of this Council, and that the acceptance of said Policy
of Title insurance showing an unpaid assessment of 457.83
be and the same is hereby ratified and approved.
Said resolution was adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Binder, Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Love.
