1931 NOV 09 CC MIN/< 195 El Segundo, California. November 9th, 1931. An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of El Segundo, California, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. M. on the above date, in the Council Chamber of the City hall of said City, by George Love, Mayor. ROLL CALL. Councilmen Present: Binder, Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Love. Councilmen absent: None. RELMNG OF =1ES OF PREVIOUS 11MM7.G. The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 4th day of November, 1931, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the minutes be approved as read. Carried. WL:IU EN CM11UNICATIONTS. The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated: J,LZORA BUIRTEIT, Secretary, Towalla Camp Fire Group, thanking the Council for planting flowers and improving the yard in the rear of the Camp Fire Club House. Ordered filed. None. None. ORAL C0 Y.•UI`dIC�1=ONS . REPORTS OF STANDIiiG COM:ITTE Z. REPORTS OF OFFICERS ,01D SFEGIAL COMUTTEES. The Chief of Police announced the appointment of George S. Neal as special police officer, whereupon it was moved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Binder, that the appointment of George S. Neal as special police officer of the City of E1 Segundo be and the same is hereby approved. Carried. The Chief of Police announced the revocation of the appointment of George D. Smith as a special police officer. The City Clerk inquired whether or not the Council desired to dis- continue the use of the "E1 Segundo" sign at E1 Segundo Boulevard and Inglewood- Redondo Road, and following discussion and consideration of the matter, it was, by general consent, decided to discontinue the use of said sign, at least temporarily, and the Clerk was authorized to direct the Southern California Edison Company to disconnect the meter. The City Attorney; outlined in detail the various steps to be taken in connection with the improvement of Sepulveda Boulevard and the sale of the bonds authorized by the voters in'"Act-of 1927 i1unicipal Improvement Dstr�ct Ido. 1 of the City of 1 Segundo ", .Octpbex 29tht 1931. After i lengthy discussion of the matter�,�it was'moved by Councilman Binder, ` seconded by Councilman Gerow,- that the City Clerk tie and he .is hereby authorized and directed to write an appropriate letter to the six apparent owners of property required to b taken for the widening and improvement of Sepulveda Boulevard, inviting said owners to attend a meeting of the City Council at the City Hall at 8:00 o'clock P.
