being all of the members of the City Council of the City of E1
Segundo, California, do hereby give our written consent to the
holding of a special meeting of the City* Council of said City,
at the Council Chamber in the City Fall thereof, No.-203 Richmond
Street, in the City of E1 Segundo, California, on Monday, the 2nd
day of November, 1931, beginning at the hour of 7:15 o'clock P. M.
of the said Day, for the purpose of canvassing the returns of the
Special 1:lection held within the boundaries of "Act of 1927
l'unicipal Improvement District No. 1 of the City of El Segundo ",
in said City on 1hursday, October 29th, A. D., 1931, and declaring
the results of said election; and we hereby expressly waive any and
all notice of the time and place of said meeting and do hereby
consent and agree that the same may be so held at s,.-id time and at
said place.

A special meeting of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7:15 o'clock P. M. on the above date,
in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of E1 Segundo, by
the L;ayor of said City, said meeting being held pursuant to the foregoing
viritten Consent and Waiver of Notice, and pursuant to the provisions of
Ordinance No. 179 of the said City.
The City Clerk was present and called the roll, with the following
result:
Councilmen Present: Binder, Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Mayor Love.
Councilmen Absent: None.
":'he City Clerk reported that the returns of the Special Llection
held within the boundaries of "Act of 1927 Lunicipal Improvement District
No. 1 of the City of E1 Segundo" in said City, on Thursday, October 29th,
1931, were in his possession in the envelopes containing them with seals
unbroken and in the same condition as when received by him.
It was thereupon moved by Councilman Krimmel and seconded by
Councilman Binder that the Council proceed forthwith to canvassthe said
returns. The said motion carried by the following vote, to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen Binder, Gerow, Krimmel, Selby, and Mayor Love.
Noes: Councilmen: None.
Absent: Councilmen: None.
The motion to canvass the returns of the said Special Election having
been carried, the Council then proceeded forthr.-ith to publicly examine
and canvass said returns and upon the completion of said canvass by said
Council, Councilman Krimmel thereupon :roved the adoption of Resolution No.
252, which is set forth herein in full, as follows, to -wit:

OF SAID ELECTION.
`THTEPILAS , the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, did by Ordinance No. 179 of the said City, call and
order to be held within the boundaries of "Act of 1927 Municipal
Improvement District No. 1 of the City of E1 Segundo, " a special
election on Thursday, the 29th day of uctober, 1931, for the
purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of said district the
proposition of incurring a debt by the issuance of bonds of such
district to pay a part of the costs and expenses of acquiring lands,
rights -of -way and easements necessary in order to widen and extend
that certain public street cony.ionly known as Arizona Drive between
Collingwood Avenue (also known as Imperial Highway) and Rosecrans
Avenue within said IVlunicipal Improvement District, and' the improve -
meilt.of said street by the construction and.completicn upon said,
street as the same may exist after it is widened and extended of
cement concrete curbs and gutters and of asphaltic pavement forty
feet in width on a portion of said street and the improvement
with oil or oil macadam of other portions of the roadway of said
street and the construction of acpurtenances necessary and /or
convenient to said improvement, in the sum of One Hundred Forty Six
Thousand right hundred Sixteen and 00 /100 Dollars ($146,816.00); and,
V;-=12 , said Ordinance No. 179 calling and ordering said
special election, was published in form, time and manner as required
by lar, as ap-.ears from the affidavit of Frank L. Snow, on file in

the office of the City Clerk of said City; and
nHEREAS, it appears that said special election was duly held
in accordance with law and said call, and that the polls for
said election were kept open during the time required by law,
to -wit: from six o'clock A. M. to seven o'clock F. 11. of said
day and that said special election was held, and the votes
thereat received, canvassed and the returns thereof ascer-
tained, determined and declared in time, form and manner as
required by the laws of the State of California and the
ordinances of said City; and
WHEREAS, On Monday, the 2nd day of November, 1931, the
City Council of said City met at its usual place of meeting
and proceeded to and did canvass the returns of said special
election as required by law, whereupon the results of said
election having been found to be as hereinafter stated,-

SECTIOP; 1. That said "Act of 1927 Municipal Improvement
District No. 1 of the City of E1 Segundo" is described as
follows, to -wit:
All that territory situated, lying and being in the City
of El Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of California,
bounded and described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at the northwest corner of the
Northeast 1/4 of Section 12, Tonship 3 South,
Range 15 YJest, San Bernardino Base and Meridian,
said corner also being the point of intersection
of the center line of Center Street with the
Northerly boundary line of the City of hl Segundo
as said street is shown upon that map of C. C.
Hunt's Subdivision recorded in Book 36, page 36
of Miscellaneous Records, Records of Los Angeles
County and on file in the office of the County
Recorder of said County; thence easterly along the
northerly boundary line of the City of El Segundo
to the Northeast corner of the Northwest 1/4 of
Section 7, Township 3 South, Range 14 West, San
Bernardino Base and Meridian; thence southerly in a
straight line across Section 7 and Section 18,
Township 3 South, Range 14 pest, San Bernardino Base
and Meridian and across intervening streets and
avenues to the Southeast corner of the Southwest 1/4
of Section 18, Township 3 South, Range 14 West, San
Bernardino Base and i�;eridian, said point being on
the Southerly boundary line of the City of E1 Segundo
as thesame now exists; thence westerly along the
southerly boundary line of said. City to the southwest
corner of the Southeast 1/4 of Section 13, Township
3 South, Range 15 West, San Bernardino Base and
Meridian, said point also being on the Southerly line
of Lot 3, Tract 1314, recorded in Book 20, page 161
of Laps, records of Los Angeles County and on file in
the office of the County Recorder of said County; thence

SECTI01; 2. That the proposition hereinbefore mentioned, voted
u:7on at said special election was the proposition hereinafter set
forth and was stated as follows:
"Shall that certain Act of 1927, Municipal
Improvement District, known as 'Act of 1927 Muni-
cipal Improvement District No: 1 of the City of
E1 Segundo', incur a bonded indebtedness in the
amount of $146,816.00 to pay the costs and expenses
of acquiring lands, rights -of -way and easements
necessary in order to widen and extend that certain
public street commonly known as Arizona Drive between
Collingwood Avenue (also known as Imperial Highway)
and xosecrans Avenue within said municipal improve-
ment district and the improvement of said street by
the. construction and completion upon said street as
the same may exist after it is widened and extended
of cement concrete curbs and gutters and of an
asphaltic pavement forty feet in width on a portion
of said street and the improvement with oil or oil
macadam of other portions of the roadway of said street
and the construction of appurtenances necessary and /or
convenient to said improvement ?"
SECTION 3. That there was one election precinct within said
Act of 1927 Municipal Improvement District No. 1 of the Uity of
E1 Segundo for the purpose of holding, said special election,
which said election urecinct comprised all of the territory
within said Act of 1927 uunicipal improvement District No. 1
of the city of E1 Segundo, and the exterior boundaries of which
said precinct were the exterior boundaries of said district.
SEC' .LO 4. That the whole number of votes cEst in said
Act of 1927 L-lunicipal improvement District No. 1 of the Oity of
El Segundo, at said election on said proposition hereinabove
stated, in said election precinct, was 36; and the number of
votes ;riven at said precinct for and a_-ainst such proposition
was as follows:

that the total number of votes given in said entire Act
of 1927 Municipal improvement uistrict No. 1 of the amity of �'1
Segundo at said election for or in favor of said proposition
was therefore 26 and the total number of votes against the same

SECTION o. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the
same to be entered in the book of resolutions of said city;
and shall also enter the same in the records of the pro-
ceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes of
the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
Passed, approved and adopted this 2n6 day of November,
ti. D., 1931.

Binder seconded the motion to adopt the same, said motion being

There being no further business to transact at this
meeting, it was moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman
Krimmel, that the meeting adjourn. This motion carried unanimously.
