1931 JUL 01 CC MIN" �'- 115, E1 Segundo, California. July let, 1931. A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, was called to order at 7 :00 o'clock P. M. on the above date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by George Love, Mayor. ROLL CALL. Councilmen Present: Gerow, Selby and Love. Councilmen Absent: Binder and Krim el. READING OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS iE ETING. The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 24th day of June, 1931, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that the minutes be approved as read. Carried. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS. The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated: COUN'T'Y OF LOS ANGMES, EEPARMENT OF HEALTH, dated June 27th, 1931, calling attention to the - termination of the contract covering public health service; between the County of Los Angeles and the City of E1 Segundo, and submitting therewith a report of the activities of said Department within the City of E1 Segundo during the calendar year 1930, -and urging the renewal of said contract for a three year period, at a fee increased 10% over that set forth in the prior-contract. Moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the matter of the renewal of the contract between the County of Los Angeles and the City of E1-Segundo, for the performance -of. public health services °within the said City by the said County, be taken under advisement•for a period of one week, and that during the interim said County be requested to continue to furnish its services at the same rate of compensation set forth in its contract now expiring. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Selby and Love. Noes: None. - Absent: Councilmen Binder and Krimmel. REPORTS OF OFFICERS AND SPECIAL, COWrT'TEE.S. The City Attorney reported - progress in the Sepulveda Boulevard Improvement matter. The City Clerk advised the Council that the City Judge desired to take.his vacation beginning July 20th, 1931, and that he had made arrangpme'nts with-JuPtice of the•Peace Austin -of- Redondo- Township to perform the duties of the City4Court of the City.of El Segundo . during such vacation period. It•was moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that Don Co Fugitt, City Judge, be and he is hereby granted his customary annual two weeks vacation beginning July 20th, 1931, it•being understood and agreed that Sam G. Austin, Justice of the Peace of Redondo - Township will act in the capacity of City Judge for the City of E1 Segundo during the said vacation- period. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Selby and Love. Noes: None. - Absent: Councilmen Binder and Krimmsl. 116 k. 0 UNFINISHED BUSINESS. :•� Moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that Ordinance No. 176, entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNiDO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 174 OF SAID CITY ADOPTED ON ME 19TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1930, AND THE UNIFORM BUILDING COTE ADOPTED BY SAID ORDINANCE NO. 174 BY REFEFMCE, BY REPEALING AND ELIMINATING SECTION 4402 OF SAID UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, AND BY AMENDING SECTION 3701 THEREOF, which was introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 24th day of June, 1931, and reread at this meeting, be adopted. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Selby and Love. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Binder and Krimmel. NEW BUSINESS. The Mayor announced that the term of office of William A. Krimmel, Jr., as Trustee of El Segundo Public Library had expired on June 30th, 1931, and that, therefore, pursuant to the provisions of Section 3 of Ordinance No. 170 of the City of E1 Segundo, it becomes his duty, by and with the consent of the City Council, to appoint a 'Irustee to fill the vacancy thus created. he thereupon announced the appointment of William A. Krimmel, Jr., as a member of the Board of Library Trustees of the City of E1 Segundo, California, to serve for the period of three years, such term terminating June 30th, 1934; whereupon it was moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that the appointment by the 1wayor of William A. Krimme1, Tr., as a member of the Board of Library Trustees of the City of El Segundo, for the three year term ending June 30th, 1934, be and the same is hereby consented to, ratified and approved. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Selby and Love.
