January 21st, 1931.
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. M. on the above
date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by
George Love, Mayor.
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Binder, Krimmel, Selby and Love.
Councilmen Absent: Gerow.
READING OF t:IlVITI'ES OF PREVIOUS IMETING.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 14th day of January,
1931, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by
Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that the minutes be
approved as read. Carried.
WRITTEN COiy ITUNICATIONS.

he following communications were read and disposed of as indicated:
G. E. CHIAM&N, President of Southern California Association of
Clerks, Auditors, Assessors and Treasurers, dated January 14th, 19319
announcing the next meeting of said Association to be held at E1 Centro,
February 7th, 1931, and extending a cordial invitation to the Council to
attend the same. Ordered file;.
BOULDER MU1 ASSOCIATION, dated January 8th, 1931, being copy of
a letter written by S. C. Evans, Executive Secretary of said Association
to Mr. Rex B. Goodcell, Los Angeles, intended to throw some light on
agitation allegedly recently raised by <:n organization known as the
Southwest Prater League. Ordered filed.
BOULDER =,: ASSOCIATION, dated January 8th, 1931, being copy of
• criticism by S. C. Evans, Executive Secretary of said Association, of
• paper read at the Compton meeting of the Southern California Water
Study Association, held November 15th, 1930. Ordered filed.
BOULDER DAM ASSOCIATION, dated January 12th, 1951, being copy
of comments by S. C. Evans, Executive Director of said Association, on the
meeting of the Southwest Water League, held at Beverly Hills High School,
January 10th, 1931. Ordered filed.
BOULDER DAM ASSOCIATION, dated January 15th, 1931, being
comments of S. C. Evans, Executive Director of said Association, made
at the request of Mr. J. Turley, Los Angeles. Ordered filed.
SOUT1MRN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY, dated January 20th, 1931,
being request for a permit to erect a pole within the City of El Segundo.
:�zved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Binder, that Southern
California Edison Company be and it is hereby granted permission to erect
one 40 foot pole on the South side of Maple Avenue, approximately 60
feet East of Loma Vista Street, provided that the location indicated is
first approved by the Street.•Superintendent of the City of E1 Segundo,
and provided further that said construction work is prosecuted and
completed to the sat4sfaction of said'Street Superintendent. Carried.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS.
Lir. Wright presented his oral application for appointment to
the office of Police Officer of the City of E1 Segundo, and the matter
was taken under advisement.

The City Attorney, reporting concerning hired car endorsement,
attached to Union Indemnity Policy No. LAU 456168, issued to the City
of E1 Segundo, which had been referred to him for opinion, advised
that the endorsement covers the contingency respecting the automobile
hired by the City of E1 Segundo and that the policy may be filed.
None.

Lloved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Selby, that
the City subscribe for four s_ts of hand books'of the Vis -a -film Police
Service, at a total annual cost of not to exceed $40.00. Carried by
the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Binder, Krimmel, Selby and Love.
Does: None.
Absent: Councilman Gerow.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting,
it was moved by councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that
the meeting adjourn. Carried.
