1931 AUG 13 CC MIN._ f% 141 E1 Segundo, California. August 13th, 1931. An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, was called to order at 6:00 o'clock P. on the above date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by George Love, L:ayor. ROLL CIIJ.L. Councilmen Present: Binder, Krimmel and Love. Aouncilmen Absent: Gerow and Selby. The City Attorney reported that he had attended a meeting of the City Council of the City of Los Angeles this date, at which meeting said Council adopted its resolution granting jurisdiction to the City of El Segundo to proceed with the improvement of Imperial Highway, as contemplated in Resolution of Intention No. 243 of the City of E1 Segundo. The Clerk thereupon read to the Council a letter from the City Clerk of the City of Los Angeles, dated August 13th, 1931, reciting facts corresponding to those heretofore at this meeting reported by the City Attorney, accompanying which letter was a certified copy of a resolution of the City Council of the City of Los Angeles, adopted August 13th, 1931, and entitled: "Resolution by the City Council of the City of Los Angeles in re the improvement of Imperial Highway, a boundary line street, between the Cities of E1 Segundo and Los Angeles, California ", which said resolution was read in full to the Council, at the conclusion of which reading, it was moved by Councilman Binder, eecon ded by Councilman Krimmel, and unanimously carried, that the said communication and accompanying resolution be received and filed. Moved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that Resolution No. 245, entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE, CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING STANDARD GRADING AND PAVING SPECIFICATIONS NO. 1 OF TBE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO , CALIFORNIA, which was read, be adopted. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Binder, Krimmel and Love. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Gerow and Selby. The City Engineer then presented plan for the improvement of a portion of Imperial Highway, a boundary line street, between the cities of-El Segundo and Los Angeles, California, from Redondo Boulevard to Main Street, within said Cities, by the construction of a 6" Bitumuls Full Penetration Macadam. After examination of said plan, it was moved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman -Binder, 'that said• plan 'be and, the; same is ;hereby; approved and adopted -for the woxk.or improvetelit of a.portion of Imperial Highyvay, a boundary line street,between the cities`of El Segundo-and Los Angeles, California, between Redondo Boulevard and Main Street, within said Cities, and the City Engineer of the City of El Segundo is hereby directed to place said plan on file in.his office and designate it as Plan No. 310416. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen 3inder, Krimmel and Love. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Gerow and Selby. 142 KI c� The City Attorney then reported that conferences between himself and members of the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County indicated that an allocation of 326,400.00 from funds of said County has been made by the said County for the improvement of Imperial Highway, a boundary line street between the cities of E1 Segundo and Los Angeles, California, from Redondo Boulevard to Main Street, within said cities, and that payment of said sum to the City of E1 Segundo will be made by said County at the time of awarding of the contract for the doing of the work or improvement, as said County's contribution to the cost of the improvement of said highway. The City Engineer presented a certain map prepared by him, designs ted as :dap No. �. 310806, and entitled : "Map of District to be assessed for the improvement of Imperial Highway, a boundary line street, bet,,een the City of El Segundo, California, and the City of Los Angeles, California, under Resolution of Intention No. 243, City of E1 Segundo , California ", which said map has delineated thereon the property to be benefited by and to be assessed for the costs and expenses of the work or improvement of a portion of Imperial Highway within the - cities of El Segundo and Los Angeles, California. After examination of said map, it was moved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that said map be approved, and that the same is hereby approved and adopted for the work or improvement of Imperial Highway, a boundary line street, within the cities of E1 Segundo and Los Angeles, California, and the City Engineer of the City of E1 Segundo, California, is hereby directed to place the same on file in his office and designate it as b1ap No. b 310806, "::1ap of District to be assessed for the improvement of Imperial Highway, a boundary line street, between the City of E1 Segundo, California, and the City of Los Angeles, California, under Resolution of Intention No. 243, City of E1 Segundo, California ". Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Binder, Krimmel and Love.. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Gerow and Selby. American Bitumuls Company presented for filing with the Council its Construction Agreement, dated August 11th, 1931. The City Attorney thereupon examined the same and reported that he found it satisfactory. Said Agreement was then read to the Council, following which it was moved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that the following resolution be adopted: RESOLVED, that the Construction Agreement of American Bitumuls Company, dated August 11th, 1931, and entitled: "Construction Agreement - Bitumuls Pavement" presented to this Council this date, be and the same is hereby approved, accepted and ordered filed in the office of the City Clerk of the City of El- - jegundo, California. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Binder, Krimmel and Love. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Gerow and Selby. The City Engineer then submitted. and filed his written estimate of the. cott of improving Imperia: *Highway, a boundary line street, in the cities of El Segundo-and-Loss Angeles, California, between Redondo Boulevard and Lain Street, by grading to full width and paving the center 30 feet thereof with 6" Bitumuls Full Penetration Macadam, the said estimate totalling .87,390.00. It was then moved by Councilman Krzimmel, seconded by Councilman Binder, that Resolution of Intention No. 243, -.ntitled: /1143 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF.TBE CITY OF EL, SEGUNDO, CALIFURNIA, DECLARING ITS D=TION TO ORDER THE D&ROVi.
