A regular meting of the Cit -;r Council of the City of Ll Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7 :00 o'clock P. T . on the above
date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by George
Love , Mayor.

Councilmen Present: Binder, Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Love.
Councilmen Absent: None.
REZ)EIG OF 1,=, UTES OF PREVIOUS 1ZETING.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 12th day of
November, 1930, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was
moved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the
minutes be approved as read. Carried.
'R IT' EN 001,- L'UNICATIOM .
The following communications were read and disposed of as
indicated:
LOP,iG 5&kCH Cli"3ER OF CO %ERCE, dated November 14th, 1930,
inviting the members of the City Council to be guests of said
Chamber of Commerce at the dedication ceremonies of the Annual
Long Beach Christmas Pageant - Parade, Friday, December 5th, 1930.
By general consent the Clerk was instructed to request fourteen
reservations.

Mr. Leonard Stuewe, Secretary- Treasurer of El Segundo rifle
Club, advised the Council that the Club had repaired the local
range and had the sane inspected by qualified officers of the United
States Army; that these officers had inspected the same and witnessed
a firing demonstration thereon, and had submitted their unanimous
written report to the effect that the range at this time and under
present conditions is safe.
Stuewe thereupon filed with the Clerk correspondence
exchanged between himself and the Commanding Officer at Fort i�cArthur,
California, together with the report hereinbefore mentioned.
SPECIAL OR M11 OF 3USLiESS.
The hour of 7 :15 o'clock P. M. at this meeting having heretofore
been set as the time and date for the receiving of bids for furnishing
the City of El Segundo with sprinkler system materials, all as advertised
for according; to law, pursuant to previous action of this Council, the
1,ayor announced the arrival of the hour of 7:14 o'clock P. bl. and asked
if there ,sere any pe •son or persons present who desired to file bids
for furnishing the s,:id materials.
The hour of 7:15 o'clock P. Iv. having arrived, and all bids being
in, the 1,ayor announced the reception of bids for furnishing the City
of El Segundo with sprinkler system materials, all as advertised for,
closed.
The City Clerk thereupon announced. that three bids had been
received for furnishing the City of El Segundo with certain sprinkler
system materials.
It was thereupon moved by Councilman Binder, seconded by

Councilman Gerow, that the Council proceed to open, examine and publicly
declare all of the bids received for furnishing the City of E1 Segundo
with sprinkler system materials. Carried.
The Council thereupon proceeded to epen, examine and publicly declare
all of the bids received for furnishing the said City of El Segundo
with sprinkler system materials, as advertised for, which bids were
found by said Council to be as follows, to- t: *it:

prepared by the City Engineer of the City of El Segundo, as follows:

Bids received November 12th, 1930, for furnishing the dity of
El Segundo with two 1 -1/2 ton light motor trucks, having heretofore
at said meeting been taken under advise::ent until the hour of 7:30
o'clock P. M. at this meeting, the r,z-Tor announced said hour and
stated that the Council 'ould proceed with the consideration of the
said bids.
Following such consideration, it was moved by Councilman
,erow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the following resolution
be adopted:

TLoved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that
the City Clerk be and he is herebir authorized to have glass substituted
for the wooden panel in the upper part of that certain door between the
Fire Engine room and the main hall of the City Hall of the City of El
Segundo, at a total cost of not to exceed $10.00. Carried by the
following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Binder, Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Love.
Noes: None.

Moved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that
the following res:;lution be adopted:

to be permitted to absent himself from his duties on
Sundays and holidays, on which days a relief driver is
suppled from some other Department of the City of El

holiday, on which day the said Fire Engine Driver would
not be required to work;
AIM EEREAS, said Fire Engine Driver has requested
tqiat'he'be permitted to work on said day and be absent
on November 29th instead;
NOW TH,REFO?M, BB IT RUSOLVED,_ that this permission
be granted and the Street Superintendent of the City of
E1 Segundo be and he is hereby directed to arrange for
relief accordingly.
