A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of yl Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. M. on the above
date in the Council Chamber of the City call of said City, by George
Love, Mayor.
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Binder, Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Love.
Councilmen Absent: None.
SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS.
The hour of 7:00 o'clock P. M. at this meeting having heretofore
been set as the time and date for the receiving of bids for furnishing
the City of El Segundo with two light motor trucks, all as advertised
for according to law, pursuant to previous action of this Council, the
Mayor announced the arrival of the said hour, and asked if there were
any person or persons present who desired to file bids for furnishing the
said trizcks.. .
All bids being in, the ayor announced the reception of bids for
furnishing the City of E1 Segundo with two light motor trucks, all as
advertised for, closed.
The City Clerk thereupon announced that six bids had been received
for furnishing the City of E1 Segundo with two light motor trucks.
It was thereupon moved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman
Gerow, that the Council proceed to open, examine and publicly declare
all of the bids received for furnishing the V'ity of El Segundo with
two light motor trucks, as advertised for. Carried.
The Council thereupon proceeded to open, examine and publicly declare
all of the bids received for furnishing the City of E1 Segundo with two
light motor trucks, which said bids were found by said Council to be
as follows, to -wit:
Bid of G. M. Duntley, Inc., on regular form therefor, prepared by
the City Engineer of the City of E1 Segundo, as follows:

around, closed type two passenger cab; hand hoist sand

Please note that these hand hoist bodies have a nine
(9) inch side; low loading hei �ht is a decided advantage
in shovel work. The head and tail being eighteen (18)
inches high permits the use of wooden or metal side boards
to increase the capacity from one to one and a half or two
cubic yards.
Delivery can be made to you of these two units at the
E1 Segundo City hall within one week from receipt of order
for the total amount of nineteen hundred seventy nine dollars
and thirty cents ($1979.30).

to purchase on copy, bound in book form with hard cover, of the pro-
ceedings of the 32nd Annual Convention of the League of California

to assume the duties of his office at once and to
perform the duties and have the authority usually
appurtenant to the office of Fire Chief, subject to
the control of the City Council of said City;

shall receive as compensation in full for all
services rendered by him as such, compensation at
the same rates and payable in the same manner as
heretofore paid to him as Inspector of Fire Apparatus
and for attendance at fire drills. Said officer
shall continue to hold said office at the pleasure
of the City Council and receive said compensation
until its further order.

Fire Chief McConnell thereupon submitted a list of names of
persons comprising the entire membership of the E1 Segundo Fire
Department as recommended by him. After discussion, it was moved
by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that the following
resolution be adopted:
RESOLVED, that the personnel of E1 Segundo Fire
Department remain as at present constituted and that
the same schedule of compensation obtain as previously
prevailed respecting the E1 Segundo Volunteer Fire
Department.
Motion to adopt the foregoing resolution was carried by the followikng
vote:

I'he Council thereupon gave consideration to the recommendations
of the Fire Chief concerning the appointment of certain members of the
El Segundo Fire Department to the respective offices of said Department,
whereupon it was moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman
Selby, that the following resolution be adopted:
IESOLUD, that in accordance with the recommendation
of the Fire Chief and until the further order of this
Council, the offices of First Asst. Chief, Second Asst.
Chief, Captain, Lieutenant and Electrician of E1 Segundo
Fire Department be and the same are hereby created;

of El Segundo, California, be and he is hereby directed
to employ D. Boyer as a laborer in the Street Department
of the City of L1 Segundo, such employment to commence
at the convenience of the employee named and to continue
at the pleasure of this Council;

order of this Council, said employee shall be compensated
at the rate of 62V per hour for such time as he is
actually engaed in rendering services to the City of
E1 Segundo; provided, however, that overtime and /or
work performed on holidays shall be compensated for in

of the City of L1 Segundo.
