November 5th, 1930.
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. M. on the above
date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by
George Love, Mayor.
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Love.
Councilmen Absent: Binder,
READING OF I+MMES OF PREVIOUS I=- TINGS.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 29th day of
October, 1930, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it
was moved by Councilman Krimm j , seconded by Councilman Gerow,
that the minutes be approved as read. Carried.
The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting held on the 3rd
day of November were read, without error or omission appearing,
and were approved as read upon motion of Councilman Gerow,
seconded by Councilman Krimmel, which carried.
At this point, the hour being 7:10 o'clock P. M., Councilman
Binder appeared at the meeting, and he immediately took his seat
at the Council table.
WRITi -T GODL0NICATIONS.
The following communications were read and disposed of as
indicated:
CITY OF GRAND RAPIDS, MICH., dated October 30th, 1930,
respecting its campaign to offset the effects of an alleged
business depression. Ordered filed.
BOULDER DLm, ASSOCIATION, dated November 1st, 1930, advising
that it had forwarded copies of its new booklet on Boulder Dam,
also a copy of a set of questions and answers as published by the
Bureau of Reclamation, and suggesting that additional copies could
be had if required. Ordered filed.
PACIFIC COAST BUILDINIG OFFICIALS COT�ERENCE, dated October
31st, 1930, granting formal permission to the City of E1 Segundo
to adopt and use the Uniform Building Code, copyrighted and published
by said Conference.
Subsequent to the reading of the communication, it was moved
by Councilman Binder, and seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that
the following resolution be adopted:
WHEREAS, there has been prepared and presented to
the City of E1 Segundo, California, in complete form,
a uniform building code, as prepared and copyrighted
by the Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference, of
Long Beach, California, adapted to the use of said city
Of El Segundo;
AND WHEREAS, three complete copies thereof, printed
in book form, have been so prepared and are now presented
to this Council for its consideration;
AND WHEREAS, this Council deems that the adoption
of said Code is necessary in order to preserve the
public peace, health and safety of said City;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that as a condition
precedent,to the adoption of such a code as provided
by law, that said three copies in such book
form, be and the same are hereby ordered placed
on file in the office of the City Clerk of the
City of E1 Segundo, California, open to
examination and inspection by the public.
Said resolution was adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Binder, Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Love.

Moved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Selby, that
the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and directed to purchase
a vacuum cleaner for use of the janitor, the total cost thereof not
to exceed X40.00. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Binder, Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Love.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.

d6nands be allowed and warrants drawn on and paid out of the respective
funds covering the same. Carried by the following vote:

Absent: None.
NEW BUSINESS.
None.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting, it
was moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the
meeting adjourn. Carried.
