A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. Mo on the above date,
in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by George Love,
Mayor.
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Presents Binder, Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Love.
Councilmen Absents None.
READING OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 16th day of Ma4y,
1930, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by
Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Krimel, that the minutes be
approved as read. Carried*
The minutes of the adjourned ourned regular meeting held on the 22nd
day of May, 1930, were read without error or omission being noted,
and were approved as read upon motion of Councilman Krimmel, seconded
by Councilman Gerow, which carried.
WRITTEN COW1UNICATIONS.
The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated:
J. OLIVER BRISON, President, Southern California Association of
City Clerks, Auditors, Treasurers and Assessors, dated May 20th, 19301,
expressing to the City Council the deep appreciation of the Association
for the City's hospitality on Saturday, May 17th, 1930. Ordered filed,
RUTH E. MEILANDT, Secretary - Treasurer, Southern Caliibrnia
Association of City Clerks, Auditors, Treasurers and Assessors, ex-
pressing, on behalf of said Association, appreciation for the splendid
entertainment and the many courtesies shown members of the Association,
who were guests of the City of E1 Segundo, Saturday, May 17th, 19300
and stating that in point of attendance and general interest, this
meeting was one of the outstanding meetings of the Association during
the past year, which the Association attfibutes largely to the cooperation
of the City Council of the City of El Segundo. Ordered filed.
REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.
None.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS AND SPECIAL COMMITTEES.
The City Clerk reported receipt of Security Title Insurance and
Guarantee Company's Condemnation Report No. 73869, respecting properties
bordering the proposed improvement of Arizona Drive, some of which
property it may be necessary for the City to acquire title to, or to
acquire easements for excavating purposes or to waste earth upon, which
said report the City Clerk delivered to the City Attorney.
The City Clerk reported that Lloyd Corporation, the owners of Lot
9, Block 99, E1 Segundo, had requested the segregation of certain
assessments heretofore levied against the said property for certain
public improvements, whereupon, after consideration, it was moved by
Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that Resolution No.
231, entitled:

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ACQUIESCING IN THE REQUEST
OF THE OWNERS OF CERTAIN PROPERTY WITHIN SAID CITY
TO THE SEGREGATION OR DIVISION OF A CERTAIN
ASSESSITNT LEVIED UPON THE PROPERTY OF SUCH OWNER
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF LATERAL SEWERS IN LATERAL
SEWERAGE DISTRICT NO. 2 WITHIN SAID CITY, AS PROVIDED
FOR UNDER RESOLUTION OF IK'E?TION NO, 134 OF THE
BOARD OF TRUSTEES (NOW CITY COUNCIL) OF SAID CITY,
which was read, be adopted. Carried by the following votes
Ayest Councilmen Binder, Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Love.

Absent: None.
The City Clerk advised that the Council had not as yet, during
the present fiscal year, authorized the transfer of any of the General
Pared to the Insurance Reserve Fund, heretofore set up by the Council,
whereupon it was moved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman
Gerow, that the City Clerk and the City Treasurer of the City of El
Segundo be and they are hereby authorised to transfer from the General
Fund of said City to the Insurance Reserve Fund the sum of $5000.00.
Carried by the following votes
Ayest Councilmen Binder, Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Love.

The City Engineer at this time presented for the inspection and
consideration of the Council, a map designated as "Map showing Exterior
Boundary Lines of Act of 1927 Municipal Improvement District No. 1 of
the City of El Segundo, California, for necessary Acquisitions and the
improvement of Arizona Drive in accordance with the Municipal Improvement
District Act of 1927, State of California", and bearing map number
M 291227,
The Council thereupon proceeded to examine the said map, showing
said proposed improvement and the boundaries of the district referred
to. After said inspection, the Council, being satisfied with the
said map, and with the boundaries of said district as proposed and shown
thereon, it was moved by Councilman Binder, and seconded by Councilman
Krimmel, that the following resolution be adopted:
"RESOLVED, that that certain map, entitled: "Map showing
Exterior Boundary Lines of Act of 1927 Municipal Improvement
District No. 1 of the City of El Segundo, California, for
Necessary Acquisitions and the Improvement of Arizona Drive
in accordance with the Yanicipal Improvement District Act of
1927, State of California%' being Map No. M 291227, be and
the same is hereby approved by the City Council of the City
of E1 Segundo, California, and that said Map be and the same
is hereby ordered filed in She office of the City Clerk of
said City.
Said resolution was adopted by the following voter
Ayes: Councilmen Binder, Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Love.

Absent: None.
The City Attorney reported to the Council that in the matter of
the adoption of an ordinance requiring Federal and State inspection
only of meats offered for sale in the cities of Inglewood and El Segundo,
as recommended by George M. Easton, that the Health Officer of the City
of Inglewood had recommended to the City Council of the City of Inglewood,
the adoption of an ordinance referred to as the "Compton Ordinance ",
which the said City Council of said City df Inglewood is at present
considering. He added that following the action of the Inglewood City
Council respecting the said proposed ordinance, he would furnish: the
City of E1 Segundo a copy thereof if adopted by the City of Inglewood.

Councilman Krimmel introduced Ordinance No. 168, entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA,
DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE COUNCIL OF SAID CITY
TO CALL AN ELECTION IN THAT PART OF THE CITY OF EL
SEGUNDO CONTAINED WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF THE PRO-
POSED MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT TO BE KNOWN AS
"ACT OF 1927 MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 1 OF
THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO" FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING
TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF SAID DISTRICT A PROPOSITION
AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE AND SALE OF BONDS OF SAID
DISTRICT,
which was read.
COUNCILMAN Binder introduced Ordinance No. 169, entitled:

DECLARING VACANT FOR PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES A CERTAIN
PORTION OF EUCALYPTUS DRIVE; A CERTAIN PORTION OF PALM
AVENUE; A CERTAIN PORTION OF STANDARD STREET; A
CERTAIN PORTION OF THE PUBLIC ALLEY LYING SOUTHERLY OF
PALM AVENUE, AND EXTENDING EASTERLY THROUGH BLOCK EIGHTY -
SEVEN, OF EL SEGUNDO, SHEET NO. 3, AS PER MAP RECORDED
IN BOOK 20, AT PAGES 22 AND 23 OF MAPS, RECORDS OF LOS
ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, FRCK STANDARD STREET; THAT
