California, was called to order at 7:00 o•clock P. N. on the above date,
in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by George Love,
Mayor.
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Binder, Krimmel, Selby and Love:
Councilmen Absent: Gerow.
READING OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 2nd day of May, 1930,
were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Councilman
Binder, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that the minutes be approved as
read. Carried.
WRITTEN CaMMICATIONS.
The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated:
WEST COAST STEEL CCNPANY, Tacoma, Washington, dated May let, 1930,
calling attention to a broom of their manufacture, which is used for
maintaining dirt and gravel roads. Ordered filed.
ORAL CCMddUNICATIONS.
A Mr. Cornell, Landscape Architect, addressed the Council relative
to his employment for the purpose of preparing the plans for the park
between the Grammar school and the High School. The matter was taken
under advi sement.

REPORTS OF STANDING cmaTTEES.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS AND SPECIAL COMTTEES.
The City Clerk reported that he had received seven bids upon the
work of auditing the municipal records of the City of E1 Segundo for the
fiscal year ending June 30th, 1930, each of which he read in full to the
Council. Moved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Krimmel,
that the following resolution be adopted:
WHEREAS, this Council has asked for informal estimates from
various accountants and certified public accountalk respecting
their various charges for auditing the books of the City of E1
Segundo for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 1930; and
WHEREAS, this Council has received seven communications
respecting the subject of such inquiry; and
WHEREAS, this Council has considered all of the same and the
amount of work involved and the respective merits of the res-
pective proposals and the ability of the respective applicants
and deems the action hereinafter taken to be best for the
interests of said City in procuring a complete and exhaustive
audit of its financial transactions as required by law;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Harry E. Bonnell and
Associates be and they are hereby employed by the City of El
Segundo for the purpose of making a complete audit of the
financial transactions of said City for said fiscal year at
the price specified in the bid of said Harry E. Bonnell and
Associates, on file herein, to -wit: $425.00, subject to the
qualifications imposed in said bid.
Said resolution was adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Binder, Krimmel, Selby and Love.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Gerow.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS.
Moved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Binder, that
Ordinance No. 167, entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA,
DESIGNATING THE CITY KILL IN AND FOR BAID CITY, AND
THE COUNCIL CHAMBER THEREIN; FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE
OF REGULAR ]MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF SAID CITY,
PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF SPECIAL MEETINGS OF SAID
COUNCIL AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH,
which was read at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 2nd
day of May, 1930, and reread at this meeting, be adopted. Carried by
the following votes
ayes: Councilmen Binder, Krimmel, Selby and Love.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Gerow.
NEW BUSINESS.
Moved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the
purchase of twenty feet of suction pipe for use in Water Well No. 3 of the
Municipal Water Department of the City of El Segundo, be and the same is
hereby authorized, the total cost thereof not to exceed $40.00. Carried by
the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Binder, Krimmel, Selby and Love.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Gerow.
Moved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Binder, that
the purchase of 150 ft. of 8" cast iron pipe for use of the Municipal
Water Department of the City of E1 Segundo, be and the same is hereby
authorized, at a total cost of not to exceed $150.00. Carried by the
following vote:
byes: Councilmen Binder, Krimmel, Selby and Dove.
Noes: None.
Absents Councilman Gerow.
Moved by Councilman Kritmnel, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the
following resolution be adopted:
WHEREAS, by resolution adopted April 6th, 1928, of
record at Page I -137 of the minutes of the proceedings of
this Council, the Street Superintendent of the City of El
Segundo was instructed to grade certain streets in accordance
with grade stakes which were to be set by the City Engineer;
AND WHEREAS, such grade stakes were set in that certain
public street known as Acacia Avenue between Sheldon Street
and Eucalyptus Drive;
AND WHEREAS, it has recently been called to the attention
of this Council that through an inadvertence, the grading in
said street between said points was not completed in accordance
with the grade stakes set at said points by the said Engineer;
AND WHEREAS, upon investigation this Council finds the
facts to be as hereinbefore recited;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Street Superin-
tendent of the City of E1 Segundo be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to cause such grading to be done in Acacia Avenue
between Eucalyptus Drive and Sheldon street as will make the
grade of such street conform to the grade determined by the
City Engineer.

Moved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Selby, that
Lodge Ho. 507, F. & A. M., be and it is hereby granted permission to
use the City Hall Auditorium on the evening of May 23rd, 1930, the
customary rental charge of $3.75 be made therefor. Carried.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting,
it was moved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Selby, that
the meeting adjourn. Carried.
