IT. on the above date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by George Love, Mayor. ROLL CALL. Councilmen Present: Binder, Krimmel, Selby and Love. Councilmen Absent: Gerow. READING OF 1,1NUTES OF PREVIOUS 11EETINGS. The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 21st day of March, 1930, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that the minutes be approved as read. Carried. The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting held on the 26th day of March, 1930, were read, without error or omission being noted, and were approved as read, upon motion of Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Selby, which carried. WRITTEN C09E8WNICATIONS. The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated: OLIVER D. REESE, Chairman, Special Assessment and Taxation Committee, of the School of Citizenship and Public Administration Short Course of the University of Southern California, dated March 22nd, 1930, calling attention to the course of instruction on special assessments and taxation, April 14th to 19th, 1930, and recommending the registration of some of the officials of this City. OLSON, Director, University of Southern California, dated March 19th, 1930, extending an invitation to the Council to attend a Civic Progress Dinner, to be held at the University, Tuesday, April 1st, 1930, at 6:15 o'clock P. M., and requesting that reservations be made early. Ordered filed and the Clerk instructed to advise the University that four officials will be in attendance. H. N. NNRRAY, President, Board of Trustees, City of Lynwood, California, dated March 21st, 1930, with which was forwarded a copy of a resolution of the City Council of the City of Lynwood, changing the names of certain streets running through said City to Imperial Highway. Ordered filed. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON CO., dated March 26th, 1930, requesting permission to set seven 40 ft. poles at certain locations within the City. The application having been approved by the Street Superintendent, it was moved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that Southern California Edison Company be and it is hereby granted permission to set 40 foot poles at the following locations,to -wits S/S of Collingwood Ave. 134 ft. West of Eucalyptus Southeast corner of Collingwood Ave. and Eucalyptus Drive Collingwood Ave., SIS, 134 ft. East of Eucalyptus n n " 114 ft. West of Eucalyptus Southwest corner Cypress Ave. and Collingwood Ave. Collingwood Ave., SIS, 114 ft. East of Cypress. Sheldon Ave., West side, approximately 50 ft. South of Collingwood, it being provided, however, that said work be prosecuted and completed to the satisfaction of the Street Superintendent of the City of E1 Segundo. Carried. ORAL C MUNICATIONS. The City Clerk reported the completion of the escrow involving the purchase of certain real property comprising Block 85 of the City of El Segundo from E1 Segundo School District of Los Angeles County and El Segundo High School District of Los Angeles County respectively, and that he had received Title Insurance Policy No. 72575 of Security Title Insurance and Guarantee Company, dated 8:30 A. M., March 27th, 1930, with liability in the sum of $31,000.00. Moved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Binder, that Security Title Insurance and Guarantee Company's title insurance Policy No. 72575, dated March 27th, 1930, guaranteeing the City's title to Lots 1 to 18 inclusive, of Block 85, in the City of El Segundo, a municipal corporation of Los Angeles County, California, in the sum of $31,000.00, be and the same is hereby received and filed. Moved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Selby, that Resolution of Intention No. 228, entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE INTENTION OF SAID COUNCIL TO CLOSE UP, VACATE AND ABANDON FOR PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES, A CERTAIN PORTION OF EUCALYPTUS DRIVE; A CERTAIN PORTION OF PALM AVENUE; A CERTAIN PORTION OF STANDARD STREET; A CERTAIN PORTION OF THE PUBLIC ALLEY LYING SOUTHERLY OF PALM AVENUE; AND EXTENDING EASTERLY THROUGH BLOCK 87, OF EL SEGUNDO, SHEET NO. 3, AS PER MAP RECORDED IN MAP BOOK 20 AT PAGES 22 AND 23 OF MAPS, RECORDS OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, FROM STANDARD STREET; THAT CERTAIN PUBLIC ALLEY LYING SOUTHERLY OF PALM AVENUE AND EXTENDING WESTERLY THROUGH BLOCK 86, AS PER SAID MAP, FROM THE WESTERLY LINE OF STANDARD STREET TO THE EASTERLY LINE OF MAIN STREET; THAT CERTAIN PUBLIC ALLEY LYING SOUTHERLY OF PALM AVENUE AND EXTENDING WESTERLY FROM THE WESTERLY LINE OF MAIN STREET TO THE EASTERLY LINE OF RICHMOND STREET THROUGH BLOCK 85 AS PER SAID MAP; THAT CERTAIN PUBLIC ALLEY LYING EASTERLY OF RICHMOND STREET, AND EXTENDING NORTHERLY FROM THE NORTHERLY LINE OF MARIPOSA AVENUE THROUGH BLOCK 85, AS PER SAID MAP, TO THE SOUTHERLY LINE OF THAT CERTAIN PUBLIC ALLEY LYING SOUTHERLY OF PALM AVENUE IN SAID BLOCK 85, RECORDED AS AFORESAID; THAT CERTAIN PUBLIC ALLEY LYING EASTERLY OF MAIN STREET AND EXTENDING NOTHERLY THROUGH BLOCK 86 AS PER SAID MAP, FROM THE NORTHERLY LINE OF MARIPOSA AVENUE TO THE SOUTHERLY LINE OF THAT CERTAIN PUBLIC ALLEY LYING SOUTHERLY OF PALM AVENUE IN SAID BLOCK 86,RECORDED AS AFORESAID; ALL WITHIN THE SAID CITY, which was read, be adopted.
