M. on the above date, in the Council Chamber of the City '-all of said City, by George Love, Mayor. ROLL C }',LL. Councilmen Present: Binder, Krim el, Selby and Love. No errors or omissions a mearing, it was moved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the minutes be approved as read. Carried. UPIT`TEIT C0 TdUT�rICiTIONS. The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated: AUTt)TrOBIL' CLUB OF SOUmHERP' dated February 4th, 1930, advising that because of a change in policy of said Club, erection and maintenance of restrictive sins upon the public highways in the future will be done at the actual cost of material and labor involved, to be raid for by the °overnmental ac ency havinV control of the highway where such signs are erected, insteL.d of at the expense of the said Club, but that direction and information si6ms, as well as code and warnin6 sins will be erecte and maint=ined at the Club's expense as in the past. Petillon and others, petitioning the Council to discontinue the present method of parallel parking on Richmond Street between El Segundo :.venue and Grand Avenue and to restore the former method of angular parking, at the conclusion of the reading of which Yr. Smith addressed the Council briefly concerning the matter. It was thereupon explained to 1,"r. smith, so that he might convey the information to the business people of this City and other citizens interested, that parallel parking in the location mentioned was adopted in the interests of safety and to minimi ^e the hazard of accidents occasioned through the narrowness of Richmond Street and the ' amount of vehicular traffic it is called u.. on to handle, particularly between the hour of 4:00 and 5:00 o'clock P. Chrisman addressed the Council relative to an annoyance he suffers by reason of storm `eaters flowing across and flooding his property, Lots 1 and 2, Block 99, .E1 Segundo, located at the Southwest corner of Eucalyptus Drive and ',lalnut Avenue, which he feels is the result of the grading of certain street-E adjacent to his property, and which condition he believed could be remedied at slight expense. At the suggestion of Councilman Selby and by general consent the matter was referred to the TLVolic 'i,orks Committee to investir ate and report at the next regular meeting of the Council. Renfro for a change in the segregation of certain special assessments levied against portions of Lot 6, Block 6, Tract 1685, owing to his desire to resubdivide the said lot. The City Clerk presented to the City Council copies of a Resolution of Intention of the E1 Segundo School District of Los Angeles County and the El Segundo High School District of Los Angeles County, which said resolutions had appeared in recent issues of the El Segundo Herald. Discussion was had by the h?ayor and Council with reference to the said -properties and their suitability and adaptability to various municipal uses for the City of El Segundo. It appearing from this discussion that immediate action is necessary should the City desire to acquire or bid upon said premises, and it further appearing that funds are available which can be expended for the purpose, and the matter having been fully considered from all standpoints, it was moved by Councilman Krimiael, seconded by Councilman Selby, that Resolution No. 223, entitled: �� FESOLUTIOY OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING ARID DIRECTING THE MAYOR OF SAID CITY TO PLACE, ON BEHALr OF SAID CITY, A CERTAIN RID FOR CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY ADVERTISED FOR SALE BY THE EL SEGUN00 HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY AND li.LSO A CERTAIN BID FOR CERTAIY REAL: PROPERTY ADVERTISED FOR SALE BY TPE EL SEGUr?DO SCHOOL DISTRICT OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK OF SAID CITY TO ATTEST APID DELIVER SAID BIDS UNTO THE RESPECTIVE ADDRESSEES THEREOF, which was read, be adopted. Motion to adopt the foregoing resolution was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Binder, Krimmel, Love and Selby. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Gerow. Moved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the purchase of a pressure grease gun for use of the Street Department and a half ton chain hoist for use of the `dater Department, at a total cost of not to exceed '45.00, be and the same is hereby authorized. Carried by the following- vote: Ayes: Councilmen Binder, Krimmel, Love and Selby. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Gerow.
