April 21st, 1930.
An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of E1
Segundo, California, was called to order at 11:30 o'clock A. Yo on the
above date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by
George Love, Mayor.
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Binder, Krimmel, Selby and Love.
Councilmen Absent: Gerow.
READING OF STINUTES OF PREVIOUS ITETINC.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 18th day of April, 1930,
were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Councilman
Binder, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the minutes be approved as
read. Carried.
By general consent, the regular order of business was dispensed with.
The City Clerk reported that the returns of the General Municipal
Election held on Monday, the 14th day of April, 1930, in the City of
El Segundo, California, were then and had been in his possession in the
envelopes containing them, in the same condition as when received, and
the said Clerk presented said returns to the City Council at this meeting.
It was thereupon moved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman
Selby, that the City Council proceed forthwith to canvass said returns.
The said motion was adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Binder, Krimmel, Selby and Love.
Noes: None,
Absent: Councilman Gerow.
Said motion being carried, the City Council then proceeded forthwith
to publicly examine and canvass said returns, and upon the completion
of said canvass by said Council, it was moved by Councilman Selby,
seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that the following resolution be adopted:
T7REAS, a General Municipal Election was held and
conducted in the City of El Segundo, County of Los Angeles,
State of California, on Monday, the 14th day of April,
1930, as required by law; and
`NHEREAS, it appears that notice of said election was
duly and legally Fiven, and that there were three voting
precincts established for holdin€: said election, consisting
in certain instances of a consolidation of the regular
voting precincts for holding State and County elections (as
the said precincts were last established by the Board of
Supervisors of Los Angeles County prior to the date of said
election); that election officers were appointed and election
supplies furnished, and that in all respects said election
-,;as held and conducted and the votes cast thereat received
and canvassed and the returns thereof made and declared, in
time, form and manner as required by the General Laws of
the State of Califorhia governing elections in cities of
the fifth and sixth classes; and,
ti EREAS, the City Council of said City of El Segundo
met at the Council Chamber of the said Council on Monday,
the 21st day of April, 1930, to canvass the returns of said
election and install the newly elected officers, whereupon
the said Council found that the number o{' votes cast, the
names of the -oersons voted for, the result of said election,
and other matters required by law, to be as hereinafter ststed:

N07.7, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved and declared as
fo l loiyS :
That said General Municipal Election was held and con-
ducted in the City of El Segundo, California, on Monday, the
14th day of 2�pril, 1950, in time, form and manner as re-
quired by law;
That there were three voting precincts established for
the purpose of holding said election, consisting in certain
instances of a consolidation of the regular voting; precincts
established for holding general State and County elections,
as follows:
Consolidated Voting Precinct "A ", comprising State and
County Precincts Nos. 4, 5 and 6;
Consolidated Voting Precinct "B ", comprising State and
County Precincts Pros. 1 and 2; and
Voting Precinct "C" comprising State and County Precinct
No. 3.
That the whole number of votes cast in said City of E1
Segundo at said election was 137;
That the names of the persons voted for; the office to fill
which each person was voted for; the number of votes given
at each precinct to each of such persons; the number of votes
given in said City to each of such persons; and the term for
which +each was elected, are as follows:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND DETF.R1,ZNED, that at said General
Municipal Election:
Peter E. Binder was elected to the office of member of the
City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, for the
full term of four (4) years;
Also that William A. Krimmel, Jr. was elected to the office
of Member of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California,
for the full term of four (4) years;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall enter
on the Records of the City Council a statement of the result of
the said election, showing:
(1) The whole number of votes cast in said City of El
Segundo;
(2) The names of the persons voted for;
(3) The office to fill which each person was voted for;
(4) The number of votes given at each Precinct to each
of such persons; and,
(5) The number of votes given in said City to each of
such persons and the term for which each was elected;
A:✓ BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall im-
mediately make and deliver to each of such persons so elected
a Certificate of Election signed by him and duly authenticated;
that he shall also impose the constitutional oath of office upon
the said persons so elected as Members of the City Council of said
City, and shall have them subscribe thereto and file the same in
his office; whereupon, each and all of said persons so elected to
said respective offices shall be inducted into said respective
offices to which they have been elected.

The motion to adopt the foregoing resolution was carried
unanimously by the vote shown in the following certificate of the
City Clerk, to -wit:

I, the undersigned, Victor D. McCarthy, City Clerk of
the City of E1 Segundo, California, do hereby certify that the fore-
going resolution was duly and legally introduced and adopted by the
City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, at an adjourned
regular meeting of the said Council held on Monday, the 21st day of
April, 1930, and that the same was adopted by the following vote,
to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen Binder, Krimmel, Selby and Love.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Gerow.

The City Clerk then reported that he had caused to be
entered in the Mirmte Book a statement of the result of said election,
showing all matters required by law to be shown therein, and that
he had done so by copying in the resolution last hereinabove set forth.

The City Clerk then read the minutes of this meeting up
to this point, whereupon it was moved by Councilman Binder and seconded
by Councilman Krimmel, that the said minutes stand approved as read.
The said motion was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen.
Binder, Krimmel, Selby and Love. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Gerold.
Councilmen elect, Peter E. Binder and William
A. Krimmel, Jr., having completed their previous terms as members of the
City Council, being present at the meeting, at this point immediately
took, subscribed and filed their respective constitutional oaths of
office as required by law for their new terms and took their seats as
members of the City Council for their new terms at once with Councilmen
George Love and William R. Selby (Councilman John A. Gerow being absent),
and the Council as thus constituted, proceeded forthwith to organize by
the election of a Mayor.
Councilman George Love was unanimously chosen Mayor and he
immediately assumed the duties of his office.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this
meeting, it was moved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman
Krimmel, that the meeting adjourn. Carried.
