A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
Califomia, wa�hcaleed to order at 7:00 o'clock P. M. on the above date,
in the Council b gf the City Hall of said City, by George Love, Mayor.
The City Clerk being absent, the Mayor appointed Coui}cilman Selby as
Clerk pro -tem.

READING OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 28th day of March, 19309
were read, without error or omission being noted, and were approved as read,
upon motion of Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman Selby, which carried.
The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting held on the 2nd day of
April, 1930, were read. No errors or omissions being noted, it was moved
by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Binder, that the minutes be
approved as read. Carried.
WRITM- T C01.57_UNI CATIONS .
The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated:
PAR,MTT- TEACHERS ASSOCIATION OF EL SFGUNDO, dated April 1st, 1930, commending
the City Council for their action in acquiring land at Main Street and
Mariposa Avenue to be used for Park purposes, and assuring the Council of
the cooperation of said Association in the securing of a city owned library.

COl'.WITTEE ON RECREATION AND P_ARK_S of the School of Citizenship and
Public Administration Short Course, to be held at the University of Southern
California, Rpall 14th to 19th, 1930, dated April 1st, 1930, calling attention
of the City Council to the course on Recreation and Parks, and urging the
registration of some of the officials for this course. Ordered filed.

LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIAA,LETIN NO. 4, dated April 1st, 1930, asking
the cooperation of this City in a Clean Up Campaign, to help remove
conditions which bring about the breeding of fliesp Ordered filed.
REPORTS OF STAYDING CCHMITTEES.

REPORTS OF OFFICERS AND SPECIAL COMMITTEES.
The City Attorney reported that he had taken up with the County
Auditor the matter of publishing notices and having heardngs on the
segregation of special assessments, when such segregations are requested
by property owners, and that the County Auditor advised him that the
method x[ under which such segregations are now and have been heretofore
handled by this City is entirely satisfactory to said Auditor, and that
a continuance of such practice will meet with his approvals at this time.
The City Clerk announced that there had been left with him Maryland
Casualty Company Policy No. M 52019, and Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection
and Insurance Company Policies Nos. 70421 and 70422, insuring the
electrical motors of the City of El Segundo against loss by accident,
which said policies were submitted as renewals of Maryland Casualty Company
Policy EM 807. The City Engineer having reported that the Hartford
Accident and Indemnity Company had insured the same equipment preceding
the term of coverage affected by the policy last mentioned, and that in his
opinion the service of the Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance
Company was superior to that of the Maryland Casualty Company; therefore
it was moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Binder,ethat the
City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and directed to return Athe Maryland
Casualty Company for flat cancellation its Policy No. M 52019,
dated April 3rd, 1930, and to retain Policies Nos. 70421 and 70422 of
the Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company, both
policies covering the electrical equipment and apparatus in the several
municipal pump houses of the City of E1 Segundo. Carried.
The City Attorney reported that he had reduced to writing all
assessments and taxes on alleys in Block 85, now remaining unpaid,
and had delivered said list of assessments and taxes to the office of
the County Counsel of Los Angeles County for a report on same, but
that he was unable to get in touch with 2kwxxnz=m Mr. Cross to obtain
such report, but would do so during the coming week.
The City Attorney reported that in conjunction with the City Clerk
and the City Engineer, he had visited the offices of the Security Title
Insurance and Guarantee Company at Los Angeles, with reference to the
status of the private roadways running into Arizona Drive, which were
involved in the Sepulveda improvement, as contemplated. The attorney
stated that in his opinion, after this conference, it would be necessary
to have a search of the title of all parcels of property involved, with
reference to said intersecting private roadway9, and also upon which any
excavated materials from said improvement were proposed to be wasted.
After discussion by the Council and the City Engineer with reference
to the Attorney's report, it was moved by Councilman Binder/ s conded by
Councilman Selby, that the following resolution be adopted:
RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby
authorized and instructed to place, with the Security
Title Insurance and Guarantee Company, an order for a
report on those certain parcels of real estate located in
the City of El Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of
California, and described as follows, to -wit:
Lots 1 and 10, in Block 113, E1 Segundo Sheet No, 5,
11ap Book 20, Pages 114 -115, Records of Los Angeles County,
California; Lots 1, 2 and 3, Block 112, as per aforesaid
map; Lots 14 and 1, Block 107, as per aforesaid map;
Lot 1, Misc. Records 36, Page 36, Records of Los Angeles
County, California; Lots 410, 411, 412, 415, 416, 417, 418,
419, 426, 429, 432, 433, Block 123, E1 Segundo Sheet No. 8,
as per map recorded in Map Book 22, Pages 106 -107, Records
of Los Angeles County, California; Lots 384, 385, 387, 388,
401, 402, 413, 414, 427, 428, 430 and 431, Block 123, E1
Segundo Sheet No. 8, as per map recorded in Map Book 22,
Pages 106 -107, Records of Los Angeles County, California;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said report shall be
in the form of the usual Condemnation Report, indicating all
persons interested in and all interests existing in said
respective properties.
