Nov. 22nd, 1929.
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of 31 Segundo, California,
was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. M. on the above date, in the Council
Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by George Love, Mayor.
ROLL CALL,
Councilmen Presents Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Love.
Councilmen Absent: Binder.
TOADING OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the -15th day of November, 1929,
were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Councilman Selby,
seconded by Councilman Gerow, that the minutes be approved as read. Carried.
The minuutes:of the adjourned regular meeting held on the 18th day of
November, 1929, were read, without error or omission appearing. It was
thereupon 'moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded ,by Councilman Krimmel, that
the minutes'be. approved as read. Carried.
WRI.TWN C ICATIONS.
The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated:
YJ ME B. BEATTY, Clerk, Board of Supervisors, advising of the adoption
of a resolution by the said Board on the 12th day of November, 1929,
appropriating $27,000.00 from the Good Roads lkmd of the County of Los
Angeles to be paid to the City of E1 Segundo in event of the Improvement
of Sepulveda Boulevard. Ordered filed.
BOULDER DAM ASSOCIATION, dated November lst, 1929, enclosing pamphlets
respecting Metropolitan water distribution and the Colorado River Acqueduct,
and containing other data with respect to the Boulder Dam Project. Ordered
filed.

Councilman Binder appeared at the meeting at this time, the hour
being 7s20 o'clock P. M. and he immediately took his seat.

SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS.
The hour of 7:30 P. M. at this meeting having heretofore been set as
the time for the receiving of bids for digging approximately 9,300 feet of
trench for 10 inch water pipe, all as advertised for according to law, the
Mayor announced the hour of 7:29 o'clock P. M. and asked if there were any
person or persons present who desired to file bids for digging said trench*
The hour of 7s30 o'clock P. M. having arrived and all bids being in,
the Mayor announced the reception of bids for digging approximately 9,300
feet of trench for 10 inch water pipe for the City of E1 Seg.,ndo, as advertised
for,closed.
It was thereupon moved by Councilman Binder, seconded by Councilman
Selby, that the Council proceed to open, examine and publicly declare all of
the bids received for digging approximately 9,300 feet of trench for 10 inch
water pipe, as previously advertised for by this Council. Carried.
The City Clerk announced receipt of ten bids for digging approximately

The City Clerk reported receipt of Street Deed which is required by
'the City in connection with the opening of Cypress and Other Streets
within the City of E1 Segundo, following which it was moved by Councilman
Selby, seconded by Councilman •Gerow,that 'the: following resolution be
adopted: .
RESOLVED, that that certain street deed, dated the
21st day of November, 1929, executed by C. L. Keith,
conveying -to the City of 1�1 Segundo for public street
purposes the Northerly 40 feet of .Lot 11, Block 106, ..E1
Segundo ''beet No. 3, as recorded in Book 20, Pages 22 -23
of Maps, Records of Los Angeles County,'California, on
file in the office of the County Recorder of said County,
and the property adnveyed thereby, - be and the same are hereby
accepted'on'behalf'O.f, the City of El Segundo; and

-BE ,,IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk of the
City of El Segundo be and he is hereby authorized, upon
receipt-.of: advice from the ,Southwest Title .Company, that
through, such instrument the City -of El Segundo will ,Acquire
title Ita said:pnoperty, free and clear of encumbrance, to
cause the said instrument to be filed for record, and to
cause to be delivered to the grantor the amount awarded him
in the report of the -Commissioners appointed for such purpose,
under the provisions of Resolution of Intention No. 154 and

The Council thereupon proceeded to open, examine and publicly declare
all of the bids received for digging approximately 9,300 feet of trench for
10 -inch water pipe for the City of E1 Segundo, as advertised for, which said

NEW BUSINESS,
The Superintendent of the Water Department advised that the laying
of the 10" water line from the reservoir site to the Easterly section
of the City of El Segundo will necessitate the employment of additional
help, whereupon it was moved by Councilmen Gerow, seconded by Councilman
Krimmel, that the employment by the Water Department of the City of
E1 Segundo of two caulkers at a salary of not to exceed $7.00 per day,
and the employment of six laborers at a salary of not to exceed $4.96
per day, be and the same is hereby authorized. Carried by the following
votes
Ayes: Councilmen Binder, Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Love.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
At this point, the hour being 9 :27 o•clock P.M., Councilman Krimmel
was excused from farther attendance at the meeting and he immediately
left the Council Chamber.
Discussion was then had respecting several matters upon which no
official action was taken, following which it was moved by Councilman
Gerow, seconded by Councilman Binder, that the meeting adjourn. Carried.
