�� regular me etinp: of the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. Y. on the above date,
in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by th6 City Cierk,the
Mayor.being absent. Councilman Gerow was unanimously chosen Mayor pro -tem
and he immgdiately assumed the duties of the Mayor.

Councilmen Absent: Binder.
READING OF ITINUTES OF PREVIOUS 1,iEETING.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 22nd day of Yarch, 1929,
were read. Teo errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Councilman
Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Love, that the minutes be approved as read.

The City Engineer reported that the Venice Hog Ranch would be unable
to accept delivery of the garbage collected by the City of El Segundo
for a longer period than approximately two weeks from this date, it being
necessary, therefore, to provide other immediate means of disposal to avoid
the creation of a nuisance. It was moved by Councilman Selby, seconded
by Councilman Love, that a garbage hopper be erected at the Westerly end
of Walnut Avenue within the City of El Segundo according to plans prepared
by the City Engineer and that the purchase of the lumber necessary for the
construction of such a hopper, at a cost not to exceed $250.00, be and the
same is hereby authorized; also that such mechanics as may be necessary to
construct such a hopper by force account be employed for that purpose.
Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Krimmel, Love and Selby.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Binder.
The City Clerk advised that El Segundo Volunteer Fire Department
desired to use the City Hall Auditorium on the evening of April 19th, 1929,
for the purpose of giving a dance. It appearing that there is no other
reservation for said auditorium on said evening, it was moved by Councilman
Love, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that this permission be granted.

dump wagon; and 1 Federal gasoline hand tractor, with 4-'-shovel cultivator and

of El Segundo has been ,placed_ under the general supervision
and direction of the City Engineer of the City of El
Segundo, imposing upon the said City Engineer duties and
responsibilities not contemplated at the time of fixing
his salary as City Engineer; and
ZTERTI,`_S, this Council feels that said official is
entitled to additional compensation for the additional
duties imposed upon him;

the salary of the City Engineer of the City of E1 Segundo
be and the same is hereby increased from °•100.00 to 4120.00
per month, which said salary shall be paid out of the
General Fund of the City of El Segundo and shall be charged
P-8 follows to -grit: ')100.00 to Erwineerin€ Department
Salaries and y20.00 to Street Department Salaries. The
said salary shall be paid monthly as other municipal
employees compensated on a monthly basis, are paid.
