A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. rff. on the above date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by Peter E. Binder, 17ayor. ?BOLL CALL. Councilmen Present: Gerow, Love, Selby and Binder. Councilmen Absent: Krimmel. REZ)ING OF ITILTI) TES OF PREVIOUS haETING. The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 8th day of March, 1929, were re ed. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Councilman Cerow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the minutes be spproved as read. Carried. ',!JRIT. yIy C011M I7NICATIONS. The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated: SOUTHERN CkLIFO13NI.11 EDISON C(YT0- , QY, dated I'r "arch 6th, 1929, requesting permission to set one 40 foot pole on the North side of Sycamore Avenue, approximately 450 feet West of Sheldon Street. Moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that this permission be granted, provided the work is prosecuted and completed to the satisfaction of the Street Superintendent of the City of El Segundo. Carried. HEALTH DEPARIMTENT, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, dated March 11th, 1929, being a report of the activities of said Department within the City of El Segundo, during the month of February, 1929. RAILROAD COMITISSION On TIM STATE OF CALIFORNIA, dated I+r'_arch 11th, 1929, being a copy of its_ Decision No. 20853 in re Application No. 15360 of the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Company for authority to construct a switching track across Collingmod Street in the City of El Segundo. The City Clerk announced that certain property owners on the West side of Whiting Street, between Grand Avenue and Holly Avenue are desirous of having the alley in the rear of their premises improved and had requested the preparation of a petition therefor. Following consideration, it was moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the City Engineer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to prepare an estimate of the cost of improving the alley between Whiting Street and Loma Vista Street, running from Grand Avenue to Holly Avenue, and to furnish the said estimate to the City Clerk, who is hereby directed to prepare a petition In the customary form respecting said improvement and to deliver the slid petition to the property owners for circulation. Proved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the purchase of miscellaneous small fittings for the 'Water Department at a cost not to exceed ,1100.00, be and the same is hereby authorized. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Love, Selby and Binder. Noe s: None. Absent: Councilman Krimmel. Moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Selby that 4" cast iron water line be laid in Whiting Street, from Mariposa Avenue to Palm Avenue, at a cost not to exceed :200.00. Moved by Councilman Berow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that Clyde Woodyard be and he is hereby granted one week's vacation, beginning March 16th, 1929.
