A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. YL on the above date,
in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by Peter E. Binder,

ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Gerow, Love and Binder.
Councilmen Absent: Krimmel and Love.
READING OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS 1,1EETING.
Councilmen Krimmel appeared during the reading of the minutes,
the hour being 7:05 o'clock P. M. and immediately took his seat.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 7th day of
June, 1929, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was
moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that the
minutes be approved as read. Carried.

UP'FINISHED BUSINESS.
The matter of the communication of El Porto Improvement Association,
filed June 7th, 1929, urging that this Council give consideration to the
annexation of said E1 Porto Precinct to the City of El Segundo, was then
discussed and action respecting the same deferred pending advice from
the City Lttorney.
NEW BUSINESS.
Discussion xxx then took place relative to the anticipated
development of an industrial area North of El Segundo Avenue and East
of Arizona Drive, and the necessity for extending Mariposa Avenue
through the said district, so as to provide an artery for vehicular
traffic, as well as a means for serving said district with essential
utilities, following which it was moved by Councilman Selby, seconded
by Councilman Krimmel, that the City Engineer be authorized and instructed
to prepare preliminary maps, showing all engineering data necessary for
the opening of Mariposa Avenue between Arizona Drive and Inglewood -
Redondo Boulevard, and to submit the same to this Council at his early
convenience. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes= Councilmen Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Binder.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Love.
The City Engineer advised that there is an agitation for the
widening and improving of Arizona Drive from Collingwood Street to
Rosecrans Avenue, to tie in with the improvement of said street con-
templated by the City of Manhattan Beach and that the adoption of a
resolution seeking State aid was recommended, a copy of such resolution
heretofore adopted by the City of Manhattan Beach having been submitted.
Following discussion concdrning this matter, it was moved by Councilman
Gerow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the City Engineer is hereby
authorized, in conjunction with the City Attorney of the City of El
Segundo, to prepare for presentation to this Council a resolution
respecting the intent to widen and improve Arizona Drive from Collingwood

Street to Rosecrans Avenue, and to apply to the Highway Division of
the State of California for financial aid in connection therewith, and
to present the said Resolution to this Council at its next meeting.
Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Binder.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Love.
The Building Inspector informed the Council that James Griffin and
L. A. Farnham desired to make additions to existing frame structures
in Fire District No. 1 of the City of E1 Segundo, and submitted sketches
of the proposed changes. By general consent, the Building Inspector
was instructed to obtain additional data for submission to and the
consideration of the Council at a later date.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this session,
it was moved by Councilman Gero w, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that
the meeting adjourn until Tuesday, the 18th day of June, 1929, at the
hour of 4 :15 o'clock P. M. Carried.
