Discussion was then had with reference to advertising and promoting the
City of El Segundo, California. `!'his discussion was developed when mention
was made respecting the prominence which certain Southern California
cities had achieved of late in various celebrations in the Southland.
Specific mention was made of the municipal band of the City of
Redondo Beach appearing in the Elks Convention parade which was had during
the immediate week in the City of Los Angeles. It appeared to be the
consensus of the Council members that something should be done by the
City of E1 Segundo toward advertising the name of the City of E1 Segundo
more broadly and in a favorable manner.

Councilman Krimmel, and unanimously carried, that the following resolution
be adopted:

could give concerts to be advertised as sponsored by said City,
or in some manner to bring the name of the City of E1 Segundo
before the public attending concerts given by such band under
such auspices.
That the said Clerk is particularly requested to
communicate with the persons in charge of the Redondo Beach
Municipal Band, ascertaining whether or not such band would
be available for use by the City of E1 Segundo upon occasions
to give a program or programs advertising said City, and any
other data which might appear pertinent or appropriate, and
report the same to this Council at the next regular meeting
thereof.
