An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the Dity of E1 Segundo, California, was called to order at 7;00 o•clock P.M. on the above date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by Peter E. Binder, Mayor. ROLL CALL. _- Councilmen Present; Gerow, Love, Selby and Binder. Councilmem Absent; Krimmel. READING OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING. The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 4th. of January, 19290 were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the minutes be approved as read. Carried. WRITTEN CO)OMNICATIONS. The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated; LOS ANGELES COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT, dated January 12th. 1929, being a report of the activities of said Department as Health Officer of the City of E1 Segundo within said City during the month of December, 1928. Ordered filed. C. K. MOCONNELL. Chief of the E1 Segundo Fire Department, dated January 11th, 1929. submitting for approval the names of the various Officers of said Department, elected at the annual meeting of said Department held on January 8th, 1929. Said Officers elected to serve during the year of 1929. RICHFIELD OIL COMPANT, dated January 16th, 1929, being an application - for a permit to erect and maintain an Oil Well Derrick, and the necessary appurtenances thereto on a portion of Section seven (7) Township three (3) south, Range fourteen (14) West in the City of E1 Segundo as per sketch attached to said applioation. Moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Love, that the Richfibld Oil Company be, and it is hereby granted permission to erect, and maintain an Oil Derrick and appurtenances on a portion df The East Thirty (30) Acres of the Southeast Quarter (SE/4) of the Southeast Quarter (SE/4) of Section Seven (7), Township Three (3) South, Range Fourteen (14) West, in the City of E1 Segundo, County of Los Angeles* all as set forth in its application therefor, and the sketch of said proposed constructim attached to its said application; provided that all the work contemplated is prosecuted completed and maintained �A accordance with the Ordinances of the City of El SeguWo, applicable thereto. Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Selby that, certain deed executed by the Southern California Gas Company and dated November 21, 1928 quitclaiming to the City of ElSegundo it•eaeb&*nt for public street and highway purposes over "The Easterly 15 feet of the Southerly 125 feet and the Easterly 20 feet of the Sdutherly 160 feet i of the Northerly 200 feet of Lot 8, Block 103. Carriied._ The Supt. of the Water Dept. advised as having had a conference with Dr. A.S.Gough respecting the price on acreage in that portion of Sec.7 within the City of E1 Segundo owned by the Gough Estate, and that Dr. Gough stated that iT was impossible to place a value on same at present, owing to the fact that said land is under lease for oil prospecting purposes. Smith, pipe fitter in the Water Department of the City of El Segundo be and same is her increased from 62 cents pere hour to TO centepero hour for such time as said employee is actually engaged in the performance of A&A for the City of El Segundo. and said compensation so fixed shall be payable semi - monthly as all other employees of the City of El Segundo compensated on an hourly basis,are paid. Schils be employed as Roller Repairgta Ls to assume his duties at the convenience of the Street Shpt, of the City of E1 Segundo, eat shall be compensated at the rate of $1.00 per* hour for such hours as he is actually engaged in services for the City of B1 Segundo, and said compensation shall be in full for all services rendered to said City.
