1929 AUG 30 CC MIN,' 267 E1 Segundo, Califbrnia. August 30th, 1929. A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of El Segundo, California, was called to order at 7:00 o•clock P. M. on the above date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by Peter E. Binder, Mayor. The City Clerk being absent, Councilman Krimmel was unanimously chosen Clerk pro —tem. ROLL CALL. Councilmen Present: Krimmel, Love and Binder. Councilmen Absent: Gerow and Selby. READING OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS. The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 23rd day of August, 1929, were read, without error or omission appearing, and it was moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that the minutes be approved as read. Carried* The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting held on the 26th day of August, 1929, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Love, that the minutes be approved as read. Carried. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS. The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated: J. C. BARTHEL, Councilman, Eleventh District, City of Los Angeles, dated August 23rd, 1929, advising that he would like to make the appointment requested by this Council fb r Wednesday, September 4th, 1929, at 2 t 30 P. M. in his office in the City Hall, Los Angeles. By general consent the Street Superintendent was instructed to meet Councilman Barthel at the time and place stated. Councilman Gerow appeared at the meeting at this time, the hour being 7 :15 o•clock P. M. and immediately took his seat. INGIONAL PLANNING COMMISSION, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, dated August 24th, 1929, making certain changes in map of proposed Tract No. 10669, submitted to this Council at its last meeting. After consideration of the map, it was moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that the following resolution be adopted: WHEREAS, certain corrections have been indicated in the map of Tract No 10669 upon which this Council took action at its lasi,�meetiftg; and AREAS, this Council has no objection to said map or tract as corrected; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the said map is hereby approved by the City Council of the City of El Segundo, the City Engineer of said City joining therein; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby directed to endorse the approval of said Council on said map. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Noes: None. :Absent: Councilman Selby. None. Krimmel, Love and Binder. ORAL COISMUCATIONS. J ass None. REPORTS OF STANDING CaMITTEES. REPORTS OF OFFICERS & SPECIAL CaMITTEES. The City Clerk reported receipt of Guarantee Certificate No. 53267, from th6 Security Title Insurance and Guarantee Company, covering certain portions of Lots 2 and 3, Block 92, E1 Segundo, which property has been dedicated to the City fb r public street purposes. There appearing to be several exceptions in said certificate which were not entirely clear, it was moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that said certificate be referred to the City Attorney for investigation and report to this Council. Carried. UNFINISHED BUSINESS. The matter of the improvement of.that portion of Rosecrans Avenue lying within the City of E1 Segundo having been investigated by the City Council, and said Council having sounded out the attitude of the property owners whose property would be assessed to pay the costs of the proposed improvement, it was moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Love, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby instructed to notify the City Clerk of Manhattan Beach, that while this Council favors all improvements which will facilitate travel and enhance values, that the sentiment of the property owners whose property would necessarily be assessed to pay the costs and expenses of the improvement, appears to be overwhelmingly opposed to the improvement as contemplated, and for that reason this Council would not feel justified in initiating proceedings at this time. ' None• There appearing to be no further business to be transacted at this session, it was moved by Councilmen Gerow, seconded by Councilman Love, that the meeting adjourn until Wednesday, the 4th day of September, 1929, at the hour of 4x30 o•clock P.
