A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7 :00 o•clock P. Y. on the above
date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by Peter
E. Binder, X%yor.
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Binder.
Councilmen Absent: Love.
READING OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETIBGo
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 9th day of August,
1929, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by
Coumilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that the minutes be
approved as read. Carried.

The City Clerk reported that the audit report respecting the municipal
books and accounts for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 1929, prepared by
Logan R. Cotton, who was employed for the purpose of mxditing said books
and reoords, had been filed with him this date, and he thereupon read the
same to the Council.
The City Engineer filed his estimate of the cost of constructing a
macadam veneer paying in the alley in Block 44 of the City of El Segundo,
the same totalling $756.00. It was thsreupon moved by Councilman Krimmel,
seconded by'Pouncilman Selby, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby
authorized and instructed to prepare a petition calling for the construction
of a macadam veneer paving in the alley in Block 44 of the City of El
Segundo, which petition shall provide for the prepayment by the property
owners in said block of the sun of $378.00 toward the cost of the said
Improvement, and to deliver the said petition to interested property owners
for circulation. Carried by the following votes
Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Binder.
Noes= Nome.
Absent= Councilman Love.
The Water Superintendent requested pemission to purchase 1500
feet of 2" galvanized iron pipe. Moved by Councilman Krimmel, asoonded by
Councilman Selby, that the purchase of 1500 feet of 2" galvanised iron
pipe for use of the Water Department of the City of E1 Segundo be and the
sane is hereby authorized, at a cost not to exceed $299.00. Carried by the
following vote:
Ayes: Councilman Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Binder.
Noes: None.

Moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that the
demands be allowed and warrants drawn on and paid out of the General
Fund covering the same. Carried by the following votet

NEW BUSINESS.
It was suggested by Councilman Gerow that the City Clerk communicate
with the Los Angeles City Councilman representing that portion of the
City of Los Angeles adjacent to the Northerly line of the City of El
Segundo, for the purpose of arranging a conference, at which the improve-
ment of Collingwood Ovenne might be discussed, and after discussion, the
Clerk, by general consent, was so directed.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this session,
It was moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that the
meeting adjourn until Monday, the 19th dar of August, 1929s, at the hour
of 11:40 o•olock A. M. Carried.
