An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of E1
Segundo, .California, .was called to order at 4:40 o'clock P. Me on the
above date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by
Peter E. Binder, 1yror.
ROLL CALL.
COUNCILMEN PRESENT; Krimmel, Love, Selby and Binder.
COUNCILMEN ABSENT: Gerow.
Moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that the
regular order of business be dispensed with. Carried.
The following demands, having had the approval of the Committee on

the demands be allowed and warrants drawn on and paid out of the respective
funds covering the same. Carried by the following votes

The City Clerk reported receipt of deeds for use in connection with
the Street Opening Proceedings initiated under the provisions of Resolution
of Intention No. 154 and Ordinance No. 135 of the City of El Segundo,
whereupon it was moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Krimmel,
that the following resolution be adopted:
ERSOLVED, that that certain street deed dated May 10th,
1928, executed by Phillip Doersam and Lillian R. S. Doersam,
his wife, conveying to the City of E1 Segundo for public
street purposes, the Northerly 40 feet of Lot 120 Block 105,
E1 Segundo Sheet No. 3; and that certain street deed dated
January 14th, 1928, executed by Emily G. Evans and Henry H.

are required by the City of E1 Segundo for use in connection
with the street opening proceedings instituted under the
provisions of Resolution of Intention No. 154 and Ordinance
No. 135 of the City of E1 Segundo, and the properties con-
veyed thereby, be and the same are hereby accepted on behalf
of the City of El Segundo, and the City Clerk of said City
is hereby directed to affix his certificates thereto, indicar
ting their acceptance by this Council, and to cause the said
instruments to be filed for record in the office of the
County Recorder of Los Angeles County, California;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that that Partial Reeonveyance
dated the 23rd day of April, 1928, executed by Los- Angeles-
First National Trust & Savings Bank, releasing from the lien
created by that certain Trust Deed recorded April 14th, 1925,
in Book 4973,,Page 149 of Official Records, Los Angeles County,
California, the Northerly 40 feet of Lot 9, Block 93, El
Segundo Sheet No.-3, be and the same is hereby accepted on
behalf of the City of E1 Segundo, and the City Clerk of said
City is hereby directed to cause the said instrument to be
filed for record in the office of the County Recorder of
Los Angeles County, California;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that upon receipt of
certificates from the Southwest Title Company, indicating
that through the instruments hereinbefore referred to the City
of El Segundo acquires unencumbered title to said properties
for public street-purposes, that the City Clerk shall cause to
be mailed to the grantors named in said instruments, waxrants
for the amounts awarded to them for said respective properties,
as shown in the report of the Commissioners appointed to assess
benefits and award damages in connection with -the Street Opening
Proceeding hereinbefore mentioned.
Said resolution was carried-by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Krimmel, Love,-Selby and Binder.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Gerold.
Moved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Love, that the City
Clerk be and he is hereby authorized to purchase ten No. 861 - 6 x 14 Yonax
Globes for use in connection with the Grand Avenue and Richmond Street
Lighting system at a cost not to exceed 435.00. Carried by the following
vote
Ayes: ` Councilmen Krimmel, Love; Selby and Binder.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Gerow.
]Loved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Love, that the
Superintendent of the 'dater Department be authorized to purchase paint
necessary to paint the municipal water department pump houses, at a cost
not to exceed $50.00. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Krimmel, Love, Selby and Binder.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Gerow.
Moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the City
Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and instructed to arrange for new tires
to be mounted upon the rear wheels of the fire engine at a cost not to exceed
$200.00. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Krimmel, Love, Selby; and Binder.
Noes: None.
Absent:- Councilman Gerow.

<A letter from the California Valencia Orange Show, dated May 11th,
1928, inviting officials of the City of El Segundo to attend the opening
of said show at 8:00 o'clock P. M., May 24th, 1928, was read to the
Council. Action in the matter was postponed.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting, it
was moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that the
meeting adjourn. Carried.
