REPORTS OF STAI;BIIdG COI,ZIITTEES.
Councilman I:rimmel of the Public 'Forks Committee, reported that in
Virginia Street between Grand Avenue and Pine Avenue, there are several
places where trees have been removed from parkings and the space is left
bare and that he felt it would be well to fill in with trees of the specie
heretofore determined as suitable for planting in Virginia Street.
The City Gardener, who was present, advised that it is believed other
trees in this street should be taken out and that pending determination of
this matter, the planting of new trees of a different specie in this street
had been deferred. By general consent, therefore, the City Gardener was
instructed to make a survey and be guided accordingly.
Councilman Krimmel of the Public I'Jorks Committee, reported having
interviewed resident property owners on the east side of Whiting Street
bet--een Holly Avenue and Pine Avenue respecting the removal of acacia trees,
the roots of which are damaging the pavement, sidewalks and curbs in said
block; that these property owners are agreeable to the removal of said trees

if the Council feels it is desirable. Owing- to his inability to get in
-touch with two non-resident owners, action in the matter was not taken at
this time, so that the Clerk might correspond with these people, and in
the meantime, the Street Superintendent was instructed to make an investigation
to determine whether or not he could find some remedy other than the complete
removal of the trees in Question.
REPORTS OI' OE ^ICERS & SPECIAL
The City Clerk reported that y ".r. Hal B. F`allerton had interviewed

the lrayor volunterred to consult Mr. Fullerton further concerning the matter.
