1928 AUG 23 CC MIN23si E1 Segundo, California. August 23rd, 1928. An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of El Segundo California, was called to order at 4:20 o'clock P. b:. on the above date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by Peter E. Binder, Mayor. ROLL CALL. Councilmen Present: Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Binder. Councilmen Absent: Love. Moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the regular order of business be dispensed with. Carried. Moved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded"by Councilman Gerow, that Ordinance No. 151, entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE AMOUNT OF MONEY NECESSARY TO BE RAISED BY TAXATION UPON THE TAXABLE PROPERTY THEREIN AS A REVER'UE TO CARRY ON THE VARIOUS DEpARM, NTS AND PAY THE BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF SAID CITY FOR THE CURRENT YEAR, 1928 -1929, which was introduced and read at a regular meeting of this Council held on the 17th day of August, 1928, and reread at this meeting, be adopted. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Binder. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Love. Moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that the following resolution be adopted: "AREAS, on the 22nd day of August, 1928, Star House Movers filed applications with the City Clerk to move certain abandoned school buildings out of the City of El Segundo and into the City of Los Angeles, stating at the time of filing such applications that City of Los Angeles and County of Los Angeles permits had been granted them to move said buildings within said respective territories on the 22nd day of August, 1928; and [7HEREAS, said applications were not filed with the City Clerk of the City of El Segundo in time for the issuance of a call for a special meeting of the City Council, but a majority of the members of said Council having been communicated with individually, had given tentative approval to the removal of said buildings on said date; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the said consent of a majority of the members of this Council to the removal of certain abandoned school buildings out of the City of El Segundo on the 22nd day of August, 1928, be and the same is hereby ratified and approved. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Binder. Noes: None. Absent: -Councilman Love. Moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that J. A. Gerow be and he is hereby granted permission to break the curb on the North side of Lots 3 and 4, in Block 82, City of El Segundo, for the purpose of constructing an approach to the garages being constructed for use in connection with the dwelling houses Nos. 412 and 418 'lest Palm Avenue, r provided the said work is prosecuted and completed to the satisfaction of the Street Superintendent. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Krimmel, Selby and Binder. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Love. No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting, it was moved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that the meetin€ adjourn. Carried.
