1927 JUN 24 CC MIN4 220. El Segundo, Cal. June 24th, 1927. A regulap meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of E1 Segundo, California, was called to order at 7 :00 o'clock P. Y. on the above date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City by Deter E. Binder, President of the Board. ROLL CALL. Trustees Present: azz= Krimmel, Love and Binder. Trustees Absent: Cannon.and Gerow. Z DING Or I:1_IN13TES OF PREVIOUS YZETING. The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 20th day of June, 1927, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Trustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee Krimmel, that the minutes be approved as read.- Carried. Trustee Gerow appeared at the meeting during the reading of the minutes at the hour of 7 :15 o'clock P. 1'. and immediately took his seat. , IT'PE:; CO`,Z77ICz.TIONS. The following corinunications were read and disposed of as indicated: LINCOLN 11UCGETT, INC., dated June 23rd, 1927, soliciting consideration in the matter of repairs to the city's motor vehicles. LIIC ", City Clerk, San Jose, dated June 25th, 1927, urging attendance at the 29th Annual Convention of the League of California I,:unicipalities, to be held at Sacramento, California, September 19th to 23rd, 1927. Trustee Krimmel advised that he had been requested to take up with the Board the matter of the planting; of a tree on the East side of Loma Vista Street North of Pine Avenue; also the plantint• of trees on the North side of Pine Avenue East of Loma Vista Street. City Gardener Budgen advised that trees might be planted on the North side of Pine Avenue East of Richmond Street, following which it was moved by Trustee Love, seconded by Trustee Gerow, that the planting of trees as requested and recommended at this meeting be and the same is hereby authorized at the discretion of the City Gardener. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Gerow, Yrimmel, Love and Binder. Noes: None. Absent: Trustee Cannon. ?Ir?ORTS Op O'.- 'ICERS & SP?CI.L CO2".'I"'TES. The Street Superintendent reported having obtained prices on an air compressor, with receive:, e ages, etc. complete, as follows: One lA H. P. motor - °'150.00; with 1/2 H. P. motor - x172.00; air gvn - "7.00. v he Street Superintendent reported also that he had performed all of the EradinL, and fillinL i:hich appeared to him to be necessary in the Pacific Electric parkin at Fain Stre:.t and Grand avenue. The City Gardener was thereupon a;athorized to prepare and submit to this Board a sketch, indicating phis idea of the plant n" required in said parking. i4-2,24 The City Lnt;in:er reported that on Yonday last the revolving sewer cleaner hrd been tried and had proven satisfactory, and that in its use the Sewer Depart- ment will require acout 500 ft. of 2-1/2" hose. It was thereupon moved by Trustee Love, seconded by Trustee Krimmel, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby author- ized and instructed to advertise for bids on 500 ft. of 2 -1/2" double jacket fire hose. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Gerow, Krimmel, Love and Binder. Roes: Absent: Trustee Cannon. Trustee Gerow reported that Mr. A. J. Sullivan would sand, polish and wax the floor of the Council Chamber for the sum of 760.00. Such work appearing to the Board to be necessary for the preservation of said floor and the appearance of the Council Chamber and said price appearing• to be reasonable, it was moved by Trustee Love, seconded by Trustee Cerow, that A. J. Sullivan be and he is hereby awarded the work of sanding•, polishing and waxing the floor of the Council Chamber in the City Hall of the City of E1 Segundo, at a cost not to exceed X60.00. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Gerow, Krimmel, Love and Binder. Noes: None. Absent: Trustee Cannon. None. None. L'Idl'INISHED BUSINESS. PAYII:G BILLS. NE':y BUSIEES'S. Moved by Trustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee Krimmel, that the City Engineer be and he is hereby authorized to purchase and have installed in the service buildir*; at Sewer Pump House No. 1, one hot water boiler and hot water heater, together with the necessary pipe and fittings to connect the same with the shower bath eqvipment in said building, at a cost not to exceed X75000. Carried by the following• vote: Ayes: Trustees Gerow, Krimmel, Love and Binder. Toes: None. Absent: Trustee Cannon, y:oved by Trustee Love, seconded by Trustee Krimmel, that the following resolution be adopted: - SOL'F%M, that the following municipal employees be and they are hereby granted permission to take their customary annual two weeks vacation between the dates set after their respective names, as follows, to -wit: Lela Dohle - - - E. At the suggestion of Trustee Krimmel, the City Engineer was instructed to ascertain the cost of installing a 16" man hole with cover in the diaphone air receiver. No further business appearing to be transacted at this meetin€, it was moved by Trustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee Krimmel, that the meeting adjourn. Carried.
