A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of El Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7 :00 o'clock P. M. on the above date, in
the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City by Peter E. Binder, President
of the Board.
ROLL CALL.
Trustees Present: Cannon, Gerow, Krimmel, Love and Binder.
Trustees Absent: bone.
READING OF MINUTES OF PR_'VIOUS MEETINGS.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 31st day of December,
192 were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Trustee
Gerow, seconded by Trustee Krimmel, that the minutes be approved as read.
Carried.
The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting held on the 3rd day of
January, 1927 were read without error or omission appearing, and were approved
as read upon motion of Trustee Krimmel, seconded by Trustee Gerow, which carried.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 7th day of January,
1927, were read. No errors or omissions being noted, they were approved as
read upon motion of Trustee Cannon, seconded by Trustee Krimmel, which carried.
MITTEN C011IDNNICATIONS.
The following written communications were read and disposed of as
indicated:
RITA Kr'�LAR, Correponding Secretary, Parent - Teachers Association,
dated January 12th, 1927, thanking the Board of Trustees on behalf of said
Association for the invitation to the Municipal Christmas gree and expressing
a desire that the event become a yearly custom. Ordered filed.
IJ. E. 1,ARSHALL, dated January 13th, 1927, being a request for a permit
to construct a door between the store buildings located No. 127 -129 Richmond
Street. Moved by Trustee Love, seconded by Trustee Cannon, that N. E. Marshall
be and he is hereby granted permission to alter the interior of the store
buildings located No. 127 -129 Richmond Street, but cutting an opening and
constructing a door in the wall or partition separating said store buildings,
provided said work is prosecuted and completed to the satisfaction of the
Building Inspector of the City of E1 Segundo. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Cannon, Gerow, Krimmel, Love and Binder.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
ORAL C017- ITNICATIONS.
Mrs. Clara Collins, the owner of Lots 12, 13 and 14, in Block 65, El
Segundo, across which the City is endeavoring to procure easements for sewer
construction purposes, addressed the Board relative to the matter, stating that
she felt that the compensation offered by the City is inadequate, in view of
the damage that she will sustain by reason of the loss of a considerable
portion of said lots. The matter was discussed at some length and terminated
when the Board agreed to make another inspection of the property and reconsider
its previous determination respecting the compensation offered.
REPORTS OF STANDING COIl'MITTEES.
Trustee Krimmel reported that Mr. 71. H. Lennon had complained to him
that the Southern California Gas Company had made an excavation and constructed
a gas line in the alley west of Whiting Street and south of Holly Avenue, and
that the excavation had not been properly settled or the surface of the alley
properly restored; also that there is a depression in Holly Avenue west of

Whiting Street due to the installation of a water service by the Waterer
Department of the City -of E1 Segundo. He recommended that both matters be
referred to the Street Superintendent for required attention, which re-
commendation was by general consent approved by the Board.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS & SPECIAL COw- !1JITTXES.
The Street Superintendent reported completion of the resurfacing of
Maple Avenue necessitated through the installation of Lateral Sewer lines
in said street and requested permission to proceed with the resurfacing of
Penn Street, repairs in Penn Street being necessary for the same reason.
The Board by general consent acceded to the request, with the understanding
that the Street Superintendent would furnish the Board, at its next meeting,
with a report of the actual cost of such repairs.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS.
Trustee Love introduced Ordinance No. 134, entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA,
REGULAT L%TG TRAFFIC UPON THE PUBLIC STREETS WITHIN
SAID CITY AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES I.NCONSIST�TT

which was read.
NEW BUSINESS.
The Marshal announced the appointment of J. G. Schoening as a Deputy
Marshal and requested the Board's approval of the ,;ame. Moved by Trustee
Cannon, seconded by Trustee Krimmel, that this appointment be approved.
Carried.
?loved by Trustee Love, seconded by Trustee Gerow, that the purchase
of an electric heater and the installation of the same in Sewer Pump
House No. 2 be and the same is hereby authorized and approved at a cost
not to exceed p25.00. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Cannon, Gerow, Krimmel, Love and Binder.
Igoe s: None.
Absent: None.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this session, it
was moved by Trustee Love, seconded by Trustee Cannon, that the meeting
adjourns ufttil'Eionday, the 17th day of January, 1927, at the hour of 7s00
