to the City and had been delivered to Lars. Collins for execution and delivery
to the City Clerk.
The Street Superintendent reported that certain property owners on
the North side of Pine Avenue west of Loma Vista Street desired to con-
struct cement sidewalk in front of their premises and that in order to do
so certain acacia trees would have to be removed. He reported further that

delivery by said estate to the City of E1 Segundo of a deed for certain
property in Section 7 for public street purposes, to -wit: the opening of
East Mariposa Avenue from Arizona. Drive to Inglewood- Redondo Road. He
advised that Mr. Gard's principal objection to the estate's granting of the
required area of land was the belief that following such granting, said
estate would be assessed for the improvement of the proposed street.
After being assured that it was the intention of the Board of Trustees
to procure only the right -of -way at the present time and not to order the
improvement of the street until future development made its improvement
necessary, Mr. Gard stated that he would not stand in the way of the pro-
