Pursuant to call of the N.ayor, due notice-having been given to each
member of the City Council, in the time, form and manner required by law,
a special meeting of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California,
was called to order at 5:00 o'clock P. M. on the above date, in the Council
Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by Peter E. Binder,-Mayor. The City Clerk
beibg absent, the Mayor appointed Councilman Love, Clerk pro -tem.
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Gerow, Krimmel, Love and Binder.
Councilmen Absent: Cannon.
Moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that the
regular order of business be dispensed with. Carried.
The application of A. C. Harris for permission to move a one story
frame dwelling house, was read to the Council. The applicant, having
made the reauired deposit and the application having been approved by
the Building Inspector, it was moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by
Councilman Love, that A. C. Harris be and he is hereby granted permission
to move a one story frame dwelling house from its present location on
Eucalyptus Drive at Oak Avenue to a new location on the South side of
Collingwood Street, West of Main Street, said building to be moved on
dollys and along the following route: West on Oak Avenue to Main Street,
North on Main Street to Collingwood Street, West on Collingwood Stre =t to
its permanent location. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Krimmel, Love and Binder.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Cannon.
Moved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that the
City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized to purchase 150 feet of 1" manila
rope and two pulleys for use of the Street Department, at a cost not to
exceed $ 27.00. . Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Krimmel, Love and Binder.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Cannon.
The City Clerk's Office advised that the Rev. John C. Schmidt, Pastor of
the Redondo Beach Lutheran Church, had requested permission to rent the City
Hall Auditorium on Sunday afternoons, for the purpose of holding religious
services. In discussing the matter, the Council were unanimously of the
opinion that the Auditorium should not be rented for an indefinite period on
Sundays, but that they would be willing to rent it for the purpose requested
for a short period. It was thereupon moved by Councilman Love, seconded by
Councilman Krimmel, that the City Hall Auditorium be rented to the Redondo
Beach Lutheran Church for a period of four Sunday afternoons, at a rental of
$3.50 per Sunday, for the purpose of holding religious services. Carried.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting, it was
moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that the meeting adjourn.
Carried.
