is the only complaint which has been received since new water rates became
effective. Being uncertain as to the extent the new water rates would burden
him financially, Mr. Gibbons withdrew from the meeting, stating that if in the

The City Clerk reported that Mr. T. L. Tack, residing at 122 East Maple
Avenue, requested permission to plant two trees in front of his premises on said
Street in addition to those recently planted by the City. Discussion ensued,
in which the Board unanimously declared for adherence to its tree planting
scheme and the Clerk was instructed to advise Mr. Tuck that in order to
maintain uniformity of tree planting throughout the City, the Board did not
look with favor upon his request.
Trustee Krimmel reported that a Mr. Frank Cooper, residing at No. 621
West Palm Avenue, objected to the location of a tree recently planted between
the driveway to his premises and the driveway to adjacent promsises. The
matter was referred to the Public Works Committee and the Street Superintendent
for adjustment.
The City Clerk advised that Mr. W. H. Golliher, on behalf of a client,
drew attention to the fact that the proposed setback lines on Whiting Street
between Mariposa Avenue and Palm Avenue appear to be unfair to the owners of
Lot A, Tract 2567 and Lot 1, Block 81. The Board took the matter under con-
sideration and determined that a corresponding situation obtains as to Lot 14
in Block 15 and Lot 9 in Block 14. The Board thereupon by general consent
instructed the City Engineer to alter the description of the set back lines on
Whiting Street, between E1 Segundo Avenue and Palm Avenue, heretofore fixed by
the Board, in such manner that the same will fit the conditions now drawn to
the attention of the Board. The City Engineer thereupon immediately corrected
the description and delivered the same to the City Attorney for the preparation
of the proposed setback ordinance.
