1926 MAY 03 CC MIN0199-1 El Segundo, Cal. May 3rd, 1926. An adjourned regular meeting.of the Board of Trustees of the City of K1 Segundo, California, was called to order.at 7s00 o'clock P. M. on the above date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by Peter E. Binder, President of the Board. ROLL CALL. Trustees Present: Cannon, Gerow, Krimmel, Love and Binder. Trustees Absent: None. Moved by Trustee Love, seconded by Trustee Krimmel, that the regular order of business be dispensed with. Carried. Having filed with the Board of 'Trustees its letter dated April 23rd, 1926, File No. 3036, granting authority to the City of.El Segundo to remove from the property leased from said Pacific Llectric Railway Cbmpany the corrugated iron warehouse and to leave standing the corrugated iron washroom now on said property, it was moved by Trustee Love, seconded-by Trustee Krimmel, that the Street Superintendent be and he is hereby authorized to demolish the corrugated iron warehouse standing upon property leased by the City of EL Segundo from Pacific Electric riailway ompany on the Bast side of Eucalyptus Drive between Grand Avenue and Holly Avenue, to leave standing however, that-portion of the building now. used as a washroom. Said Street Superintendent is further instructed to salvage. so much of the materials from such demolition as possible, and to safely store such salvaged materials that are not actually used in other construction work by the 6ity of El Segundo.. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Cannon, Gerow, Krimmel, Love and Binder. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Trustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee Love, that Xr. E. Anderson be granted permission to use the coffee pots of the City of E1 Segundo on Sunday, May 9th, 1926, no oharge to be made for such use. Said equipment to be returned to the City on or before the following day in as good condition as when received. Carried. Moved by Trustee Krimmel,, seconded by Trustee Gerow, that the following resolution be adopted: WHERFAS, in the process of street cleaning, surplus fine rock is from time to time taken from the streets by the Street Department and deposited in a stock pile for use under conditions permitting the use of suab screenings; and, W MEAS, it appears from reports of the Street Superintendent that instances where it is practical.to use such sweepings are rare and that there is an occasional opportunity to sell these screenings to property owners for the construction of private walks and driveways; NOTI THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLV , that whenever, in the opinion of the Street Superintendent of the City of El Segundo, there has accumu- lated a quantity of such street.sweepings beyond which will reasonably be used in street repairing, the Street Superintendent is hereby authorized to sell the same at .x'1.50 per yard f.o.b. stock pile, upon written orders from the City Clerk, indicating that a sufficient deposit or prepayment for the materials to be purchased has been made. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Cannon, Gerow, Krimmel, Love and Binder. Noes: None. Absents None.
