remove garbage from the City of El Segundo. Referred to the Street Superinten-
dent for investigation and report.
C. E. ISHAM, application dated Yarch 25th, 1926, requesting permission to
remove eucalyptus trees from a portion of Eucalyptus Drive between Paln Avenue
and Marle Avenue and to use portions of Eucalyptus Drive between said Avenues
in so doing. Moved by Trustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee Love, that C. E. Isham
be and he is hereby granted permission to remove eucalyptus trees from certain
portions of Eucalyptus Drive between Palm Avenue and laple Avenue and to use
portions of said street in so doing, provided he exercises due caution in
protecting persons and property during such operation, and provided further, that
,e file with the City a good and sufficient bond in the penal sum of $25:00;
indemnifying said city against damage to public property, which might result ff'om
said work. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Anderson, Cannon, Gerow, Love and Binder.

The hearing of protests against the laying out and opening of a certain
new public street within the City of El Segundo, between Arizona. Drive and
Inglewood- Redondo Road, to be designated and known as 11ariposa Avenue, having
heretofore been adjourned to the hour of 7 :30 o'clock P. P!T. at this meeting, and
said hour having, arrived, the President arose and asked if there were any person
or persons present who desired to file protests against the said work or
°_mnrovement. Iio additional protests were filed, but the Board desiring to hear
prom interested parties who had previously filed protests and which protests the
Board heretofore had been advised were to be withdrawn, it was moved by Trustee
Cannon, seconded by Trustee Gerow, that the hearing of protests against the laying
out and opening of a certain new public street within the City of El Segundo,
California, to be designated and known as Mariposa Avenue, as contemplated under
Resolution of Intention No. 94 of the Board of Trustees, be adjourned until
Friday, the 9th day of April, 1926, at the hour of 6;00 o'clock P. Y. Carried.

1!r. E. Newburg of the firm of i:ewburg & :Williams, stated that he vvished to
amend the offer made to this -Doard of '- rustees through his letter filed with this
Board this date, by offering to pay the City 75¢ per ton for garbage delivered
to his hog ranch by municipal vehicles instead of having his own trucks call for
the same at r`'1. Segundo. He stated further that he would post a bond with the
City for the faithful performance of any contract which the City would care to
enter into in this connection. He was advised that the matter would be taken
under consideration, pending receipt by the Board of a report from the Street
Superintendent.
C. D. Mapes stated that he would like to rent the City Hall Auditorium for
the holding of weekly dances on Saturday nights, beginning April 1st, 1926.
Following discussion the request was denied, the 3oard feeling that this night
should remain open for such public use as mint develop from time to time.

be and he is hereby authorized to purchase 250 sacks of cement for completion of
the floor in the municipal warehouse, and six globes for ornamental street lights,
at a cost not to exceed •,;275.00. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Anderson, Cannon, Gerow, Love and Binder.
Noes: Bone.
Absent: None.
Moved by Trustee Cannon, seconded by Trustee Gerow, that the following
resolution be adopted:
MM AS, proceedings "" taken by this Board of
Trustees for the laying out and opening of Sycamore Avenue
in the City of M. Segundo, California, under Resolution
of Intention No. 84 and Ordinance No. 113 of said City, vsdiich
said proceedings require that certain property along the line
of said improvement be deeded to said City for public street
purposes; and

have presented to this Board of Trustees street deed, dated
the 2nd day of February, 1926, conveying to the said City for
public street purposes the North 25 ft. of Lot 10, Block 10,
Tract 1685, in the City of Z1 Segundo, County of Los Angeles,
State of California, as per map of said tract recorded in 3ook
21, rage 98 of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of
said Los Angeles County; and
7 ^' AS, Elizabeth L. Kenney has presented to this Board
of Trustees street deed, dated the 29th day of December, 1924,
conveying to the said City for public street purposes the North
25 ft. of Lot 8, Block 98, M Segundo Sheet No. 3, as per man
recorded in Book 20, at Pages 22 and 23 of i,iaps, in the office
of the County Recorder of said Los Angeles County;
NOW TIMOR:, BE IT BMOL'F:M, that the said deeds any
the property conveyed thereby be and the same are hereby accepted
on behalf of the City of El Segundo, and the City Clerk is hereby
authorized and instructed to affix to said deedshis certificate,
showing the acceptance of the same by this Board of Trustees
and to file the said deeds for record.
Said resolution was adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Anderson, Cannon, Gerow, Love and Binder.

Superintendent be and he is hereby instructed to remove weeds from and to
prepare the baseball grounds for use at an early date and thereafter to
keep the same in condition for weekly use during the baseball season. Carried
by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Anderson, Cannon, Gerow, Love and Binder.
Does: None.
Absent: None.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting, it was
moved by Trustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee Love, that the meeting adjourn.
