A regular meeting of the Board of l'rustees of the "ity of El Begundo,
California, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. Yf. on the above date in the
Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City by Peter y. Binder, President of
the Board. The City Clerk being absent, Trustee Cannon was appointed Clerk pro -
tem.

The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 8th day of January, 1926,
were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Trustee Gerow,
seconded by Trustee Love, that the minutes be approved as read. Carried.

The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated:
HL= K. FROCK, Secretary, 1 Segundo Chamber of Commerce, requesting that
the vacant corner on Richmond Street opposite the City Mall be included in the
property which is to be sown with wild flower seed. By general consent the
;street Superintendent was instructed to include this property when sowing wild
flower seed on vacant lots throughout the City.
COL ^;TY OF LOS AID.GELES, i ZUTH D:2ART=TT, being a report of the Health
Office for the City of M Segundo for the month of December, 1925. Ordered filed.
COUNTY OF LOS A: CELES, HEALTH DEP.,11121E:7", advising that tests made by
said Department of the water supply of the City of E1 Segundo, indicate the
water to be free from any contamination injurious to good health. Ordered filed.
BOULDIR DADS ASSOCIATIOTNT, being a financial report for six months ending
December 30th, 1925. Ordered filed.

Trustee Gerow reported having had a conference with 11r. Gillette of the
Santa Fe Railway Company relative to said company furnishinb fla,-

at the E1 Segundo Avenue crossing of the Santa Fe Railway during such times as trains
of said company are being operated in the filching of moving pictures. ' "r. Gillette
advised that the Santa Fe Railway did not wish to establish a precedent by
acceding to the city's request for such flagman. Trustee Gerow asked if the Santa
e Railviay would advise the �,ity of El Segundo when said conpa--iy contemplated the
operation of said trains for such purpose and was further advised that said company
preferred not to obligate itself to comply with that request, but that he felt
that his company would refrain from operating trains over this crossing for the
purposes indicated if rea_uested so to do, but would operate them north of the El
Segundo Avenue crossing. Followin discussion, it was moved. by Trustee Love,
seconded by `,rustee Anderson, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby instructed to
vxite the Santa Fe Railway Company, requesting that in the operation of its trains,
for the filming of moving pictures, over its main line through E1 Segundo, that said
cor_many issue instructions to its employees to confine said operations to that
portion of its right -of -way north of E1 Segundo Avenue. Carried.

, * R. A. WATTSON, Contractor, a letter requesting a sixty day extension
of time in which to complete the work contemplated in his contract with the City
of El Segundo dated August 31st, 1925. Loved by Trustee Gerow, seconded by
Trustee Love, that the following resolution be adopted:
"TMEAS, on the 31st day of August, 1925, R. A. Mattson
entered into contract with the City of E1 Segundo for the con-
struction and completion of a sanitary trunk line sewer system
within the City of M Segundo, said contract limiting the time
for the completion of the work contemplated therein to 120
days; and
::- iiERFAS, because of unforseen construction difficulties,
the said work will not be completed within the said 120 days
and the said R. A. Mattson has applied to this Board of Trustees
for an extension thereof;
NOT, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that, it being the opinion
of this Board of Trustees that the best interests of the City
of El Segundo would be served by extending the time within which
to complete the work contemplated under that certain contract
between the City of El Segundo and R. A. Mattson, dated August
31st, 1925, the said time for the completion of said work is
hereby extended a period of sixty days beyond the termination
date expressed in said contract.
