A regular meeting of the Board of 'Trustees of the City of 1B. Segundo, Cal-
ifornia, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. Ll- on the above date, in the
Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by Peter L. Binder, President of
the Board.

were read. ,o errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Trustee Love,
seconded by Trustee Gerow, that the miinutes be approved as read. Carried.

questing permission to erect five poles and two anchors on the north side of
osecrans Avenue East of Arizona :give, said poles to be located 10 feet forth
of the center line of 3osecra.ns Avenue. Action deferred to permit the Board
to acquaint itself with conditions at said location.

The hour of 7 :30 o'clock P. 11. at this meeting, having heretofore been fixed
as the time for receiving bids for furnishing the City of -M Segundo with certain
cast iron pipe and fittings, the President arose and announced the hour of 7:29
o'clock P. 1:., and asked if any person or persons present desired to file bids
for furnishing said pipe and fittings. The hour of 7 :30 o'clock P. 11. having
arrived, the President then declared the time for receiving bids for furnishing
the City of F.1 Segundo v:ith certain cast iron pipe and fittings, as advertised
for, closed.

comes in four meter lengths and the weight of the 6" is approxi-
mately 400 pounds per length, the weight of the 4" is 250 pounds
per length. 'he hydrostatic test is 346 pounds, the workin- head
pressure 400 pounds and the :corking crater pressure 173 pounds.

protests against the issuance of bonds for the improvement of portions of
Hillcrest Avenue and Pine Avenue within the City of El Segundo, under Resolution
of Intention No. 103. No protests were filed or made, and the City Clerk

ment until Friday, the 16th day of April, 19269 at the hour of 7:15 o'clock P. M.

new public street within the City of El Segundo, between Arizona Drive and
Inglewood- Redondo Road, to be designated and known as Mariposa Avenue, having
heretofore been adjourned to the hour of 8 :00 o'clock P. Y. at this meeting, and
said hour having arrived, the President arose and asked if there were any person
or persons present who desired to file protests against the said work or improve-
ment. No additional protests were filed, but the Board desiring to hear from
interested parties, who had previously filed protests and which protests the
Board heretofore had been advised were to be withdrawn, it was moved by Trustee
Cannon, seconded by Trustee Love, that the hearing of protests against the
laying out and opening of a certain new public street within the City of E1 Segundo,
California, to be designated and knos4n as Tariposa Avenue, as contemplated
under Resolution of Intention No. 94 of the Board of trustees be adjourned until
Friday, the 30th day of April, 1926, at the hour of 7 :15 o'clock P-17. Carried.

she Street Superintendent recommended that Messrs. A. T. E?iller and C.
;;oodyard, foremen in his Department, be awarded an increase in salary. 7Ihereupon,
after considerable discussion, it was moved by Trustee Cannon, seconded by
Trustee Gerow, that from and after the 16th day of April, 1926, and until the
further order of this Board, A. T. Liller and C. +oodyard, foremen in the
employ of the Street Department of the City of M Segundo, be compensated at
the rate of 75¢ per hour, instead of 65¢ per hour as theretofore paid said employees.
Such compensation shall be in full for all services rendered the City of E1
1'77.1
Segundo, and shall be payable semi - monthly as employees of said Street Depart-
ment have heretofore been paid. Carried by the following vote:

Tree Street Superintendent reported that in view of the extra work re-
quired of his Department by reason, of recent unusual storms and the construction
of cement walks at the sewer pump house, as well as the layinE. of a cement
floor in the municipal warehouse, it had been necessary for him to employ
additional laborers in the emergency, with the understanding that their com-
pensation would be at the same rate usually allowed laborers in the employ of
the City. It was thereupon moved by _rustee Cannon, seconded by Trustee Love,
that the employment, at various dates between !larch 1st, 1926 and this,date..

of the said nunicipal warehouse and the final paymentto L:r. Albert J.

Trustee Love reported that he and trustee Cannon had investigated
the matter of the denclition of the old corrugated iron municipal varehouse
as recommended by the Street Superintendent, and that said official's
recommendation to use a portion of the iron in the erection of partitions
in the new brick warehouse and to store the remainder appears to be satis-
factory. He stated also that it is proposed to permit the washroom, which
adjoins the old -- rehouse, to remain in its present location.. It vrws
thereupon moved by Trustee Cannon, seconded by Trustee Love, that in
accordance with the terms of that certain Lease 1:o. 3036, dated January 10th,
1918, betv,een Pacific Electric ::ail,,:ay Cc:r-ran, and. the City of M Segundo,
covering the site of the old municipal warehouse on the Elast side of
Luc ;y_rtus Drive between Grand venue and Holly Avbnue, the City Clerk be
axed he is hereby instructed to advise said Pacific Llectric Railvray Company
of the desire of the City of E1 Secando to dismantle the corru,-ated iron
vrarenouse no�,,r situated upon the property leased from said Company, and to
efford them an opportunity to -,purchase the same under the provisions of
erection 9 of the lease hereinbefore referred to; also to request a modifica-
tion of the lease to permit the further maintenance upon said site of the
washroom at present adjoining the before mentioned warehouse. Carried.

and he is hereby granted the customary annual t::o weeks vacation beo n_^in27
April 12th, 1926, and that Burin` such vacation I.r. George :::cLauchlin be
employed as'substitute janitor and fire engine driver and be compensated for
all services rendered as such substitute janitor and fire engine driver at
the rate of $195.00 per month, and that I-r. A. L. Ainsworth be employed as
substitute relief fire engine driver, to perform the duties of janitor and
fire engine driver on S=days and holidays during; the before mentioned
vacation period, his compensation therefor to be X7.00 per day. Carried
