A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of M Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7 :00 o'clock . : :. on the above date, in the
Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City by Peter Binder, President of
the Board.

were read. i'o errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Trustee Gerow,
seconded by Trustee Love, that the minutes be approved as read. Carried.
Trustee Cannon appeared during the reading of the minutes, the hour being
7 :05 o'clock P. Y.

=7BURG & 7lLLLIn: ".5, a letter dated r:arch 31st, 1926, withdrawing the offer
made to this Board of `rustees under date of !:arch 24th, 1926, respecting the
removal of garbage from the City of Z1 Segundo, agreeing to take all of said
arbage at 75¢ per ton delivered to their plant near Inglewood.
Following discussion, it was moved by Trustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee
Love, that the City of M Segundo enter into an agreement with i:ewburg 6:
:7illiams for the sale of all of the city's garbage at 75¢ per ton, delivered to
the plant of said firm near Inglewood, California, for a period of five years,
and the City Attorney of the City of IU Segundo be and he is hereby authorized
and instructed to prepare a suitable contract in this connection. Carried by
the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Cannon, Gerow, Love and Binder.
Noes: None.
Absent: Trustee Anderson.
PACIFIC TI7 HOL^ & TM,RGRAPH COMPANY, dated March 29th, 1926, requesting
permit for pole installation. Moved by Trustee Love, seconded by Trustee Gerow,
that Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Company be and it is hereby granted permission
to erect one 35 ft. pole on the South side of 11ariposa Avenue, approximately
150 ft. 3ast of Sheldon Street, such work to be prosecuted and completed to the
satisfaction of the Street Superintendent of the City of M Segundo. Carried.

The City Attorney advised receipt of quotations from several of the Title
Companies, quoting price for furnishing the City of El Segundo a report showing
the ownership of property which will be affected by proposed new street opening
program and for furnishing a Guarantee of Title in connection therewith, said
prices being as follows:

The City Engineer reported that the Standard Oil Company had recalled
iTr. J. H. 7illiams, a draftsman whom he had procured from said Company, at a
time wren there was a large volume of drafting to be done for the City of E1
Segundo, and that the full time services of said employee terminated YArch
23rd, 1926, but that inasmuch as there is some work in the City Engineer's
office which had been started by lir. ,illiams, he desired to have that individual
complete the same, and thought this might be accomplished through part time
services of Mr. Williams.
IToved by Trustee Cannon, seconded by Trustee Love, that the following
resolution be adopted:
RESOLVED, that the employment of J. H. sYilliams as draftsman in the
2rigineering Department of the City of 'l Segundo be terminated as of midnight,
the 23rd day of Yarch, 1926, and that the salary of N175.00 per month heretofore
authorized paid said employee be terminated as of said date; and
BE IT FURTHER RRSOLVED, that the occasional employment of said J.
H. Williams by the City Engineer of the City of M Segundo be and the same
is hereby authorized, ratified and approved, the compensation to be paid said
individual for all services rendered the City of M Segundo as a draftsman
being fixed at the rate of N175.00 tier month, which said star shall be payable
monthly as other city salaries are paid. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Cannon, Gerow, Love and Binder.

The City Clerk advised that ?.r. Leroy Smith, a real estate operator
of the City of Inglewood had advised him that the Santa Fe Railway intends to
tear out a vehicle crossing =orth of E1 Segundo Avenue, which has been in use
for a number of years, and had asked that the City protest against the same.
The City Clerk was instructed to inquire into the matter and to what extent the
City or the citizens thereof would be affected, and if it is found that the report
is correct and that the City or property owners thereof will be damaged thereby,
to endeavor to induce the Santa Fe Railway Company to reconsider the matter.

'.:.r. A. '. ". Robertson, an employee of the City of - Segundo, filed a
claim against the City for •,190.00 to cover the cost of repairing his auto-
mobile, damaged February 20th, 1926, while the said automobile was under
hire to the City of El Segundo. 1.r. J. L. Gibbs, in charge of the
surve-in; party of the City of El Se:�u,ido using said automobile on said date,
vrrs interrogated concerning the accident, for vir_ich one H. K. McCausland
of Venice, California, is alleged to have been responsible, follov;inZ ;v.ich
it was moved by Trustee Love, seconded by Trustee Cannon, that the matter be
referred to the City Attorney for disposition. Carried.
The 3oard's attention ;vas drawn to the fact that the municipal rarehouse
recentl; constructed by Mr. Albert J. Sullivan is and has been completed,
except for installation of certain plumbing fixtures, which cannot be installed
until after the Street Superintendent has completed the laying of a cement
floor in the said building and that under these circumstances final
settlement with ?s. Albert J. Sullivan-should not be delayed. It was
thereupon moved by Trustee Love, seconded by Trustee Cannon, that the City
Engineer be instructed to confer with Mr. Sullivan for the purpose of
making some satisfactory arrangement as to the installation of these plumbing
fixtures and to report to the Board at its next regular meeting. Carried.

was moved by Trustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee Love, that the meeting
adjourn. Carried.

The City Engineer then presented to the Board of Trustees the
Assessment Diagram for the improvement of a certain portion of Dtand
Avenue and a certain portion of Richmond Street, within the City of El Segundo,
as provided for under/Resolution of Intention No. 109 of the Board of
Trustees of said City, said diagram being numbered M 26210. After examination
of said diagram, it was moved by Trustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee Love, that
the following resolution be adopted:
RRSOLVED, that the Assessment Diagram for the improvement
of a certain portion of Grand Avenue and of a certain portion
of Richmond Street, within the City of El Segundo, under
resolution of Intention No. 109, said diagram being numbered
12 26210, is satisfactory to this Board in all particulars
and that the same is hereby approved by this Board and the
City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to endorse the
approval of this Board upon said Assessment Diagram.
Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Cannon, Gerow, Love and Binder.
Noes: None.
