Z1 Segundo, Cal. Sept. 11, 1925.
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7200 o'clock P. M. on the above date, in
the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City by Peter Binder,
President of the Board.
ROLL CALL.
Trustees Presents Cannon, Gerow, Love and Binder.
Trustees Absents Anderson.
READING OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS I5; TINGS.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 4th day of September, 1925,
were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Trustee Cerow,
seconded by.Trustee Love and carried, that the minutes be approved as read.
Trustee Anderson appeared during the reading of the minutes, the hour
being 7s02 o'clock P. M. and immediately took his seat.
The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting held on the 8th day of
September, 19259 were read without error or omission being noted and were
approved as read upon motion of Trustee Love, seconded by jrustee Anderson,
which carried.
MITTEN COYLTNICATIONS.
The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated:
JACK WOOD and
RICHARD WAYSLEY, each an application for a permit to discharge air
rifles within the limits of the City of Li Segundo. The possible danger
of injury to human beings being pointed out during the ensuing discussion
concerning these applip atiQnns�,o �the.fact that similar requests had been
refused in the pas.,* �y general consent the Board denied the permits herein
applied for.
GREATER HIQiLAND BOULEVARD ASSOCIATION, an invitation to attend the
second public meeting of the said Association, to be held at the Inglewood
Grammar School Auditorium, Inglewood, California, at 8200 o'clock P. M.,
September 16th, 1925. Ordered filed.
L. Y. GOSNEY, Manager, Eureka Fire Hose Manufacturing Company, drawing
attention to the Pacific Coast Fire Chiefs Association Convention to be held
at Seattle, Washington, September 21st to 24th, Incl. 1925, and urging the
attendance of El Segundo's Fire Chief or Assistant Chief. Ordered filed.

?he City Attorney announced having delivered to the Consulting Bond Attorneys
final abstract of the proceedings relative to the issuance of the $3759000.00
par value sewer bonds, election 1925, of the Oity of Z1 Segundo.
The City Engineer presented for the Board's approval a map showing that
portion of the Pacific Electric Company's right -of -way on Grand Avenue, which the
Chief engineer of said Company expressed a willingness to recommend to his company
to deed to the City of E1 Segundo for public street purposes, and indicating also
the semi - circular curb which the City of El Segundo would construct in consideration

of the easement herein referred to. It was suggested that the area be
extended approximately ten feet easterly with the idea of the city erecting
a flag pole within the semi - circle and planting a lawn, which the city would
maintain and with this modification the map was, by general consent, approved
by the Board of Trustees and the City Clerk instructed to communicate with
the said Pacific Electric Railway CbMpany in an effort to obtain the easements
for street purposes and park purposes indicated on said reap as modified.
The City Engineer then exhibited salesman's pictures of various
types of street lighting standards for the purpose of permitting the Board to
select the type to be installed in Grand Avenue and Richmond Street when these
streets are improved. Me Board of Trustees, feeling that the property owners
who are to pay for the same should have a voice in the selection, ay

Agent Dale was instructed to inform all of the property owners on said streets
within the area to be improved, with whom he could make contact between this
date and the 14th inst., that a meeting would be held in the Council amber Ch
of the City Hall on Monday, September 14th, 1925, at 8s00 o'clock P. Ch for
the purpose of permitting the property owners to decide upon the type of
post to be used in the improvement of Richmond Street and Grand Avenue,
SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS.
The hearing of protests against the laying out and opening of the certain
new public street within the City of E1 Segundo between Arizona Drive and
Inglewood and Redondo Road, to be designated and known as Maripoa
having heretofore been adjourned to the hour of 7 :30 o'clock P, 11, at this meeting and said hour having arrived, the President arose and announced the
hour of 7:30 o'clock P. 12e and asked if there were any person or persons present
who desired to file protests against the said work or improvement.
Right -of -Way Agent Dale advised having communicated with 11r. Walter
Haas, who represents certain Protestants against the work herein referred to,
whose protests have heretofore been filed with this Board of Trustees, and
that LRr. Haas has not heard from certain of his clients who are in the East
with respect to this matter, but that he expected to hear from them within the
next two weeks. No other protests having been filed, it was moved by Trustee
Gerow, seconded by Trustee Love, that the hearing of protests against the
laying out and opening of the certain new public street within the City of E1
Segundo between Arizona Drive and Inglewood and Redondo Road, to be designated
and known as Mariposa Avenue, as contemplated under Resolution of Intention
No. 94 of the Board of Trustees of the said City, be and the same is hereby
adjourned until the 2nd day of October, 1925, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock
P. M. Carried.
NEW BUSINESS.
Moved by Trustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee Anderson, that the City Attorney
be and he is hereby authorized and instructed to prepare a notice to bidders
calling for bids on one small automobile for use of the Street Department, said
notioe, when prepared, to be published by the City Clerk in the manner provided
by law. Carried by the following vote:
Ayess Trustees Anderson, Cannon, Gerow. Love and Binder.
Noes: Nohe.
Absent: None.
Moved by Trustee Love, seconded by Trustee Anderson, that the City Marshal
be and he is hereby authorized to purchase ammunition for the Police Department
at a cost not to exceed ,;45.00. Carried by the following vote:
Ayers Trustees Anderson, Cannon, Gerow, Love and Binder.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
110 further business appearing to be transacted at this session, it was
moved by Trustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee Love, that the meeting adjourn until
Wednesday, the 16th day of September, 1925, at/the hour of 5:00 o'clock P. M. Carried.
