M. on the above date in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City by Peter R. Binder, President of the Board. ROLL CALL. Trustees Present: Anderson, Gerow, Love and Binder. SPECIAL ORD i OF BUSINESS* The hearing of protests against the laying out and opening of the certain new public street within the City of Rl Segundo between Arizona Drive and Inglewood and Redondo Road, to be designated and known as Mariposa Avenue, having heretofore been adjourned to the hour of 7 :30 o'clock P. Me at this meeting, and said hour having arrived, the President arose and announced the hour of 7 :30 o'clock P. M. and asked if there were any person or persons presentr:ho desired to file protests against the said work or improvement. It appearing that 1'•r. Haas, Attorney for certain of the protestants, had not heard from his eliens relative to the withdrawal of their protests against the work herein referred to, which protests had been heretofore filed with this Board of Trustees and it appearing advisable to continue the hearing, it was moved by Trustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee Anderson, that the hearing of protests against the laying out and opening of the certain new public street within the City of L1 Segundo between Arizona Drive and Inglewood and Redondo Road, to be designated and known as ttariposa Avenue, as contemplated under Resolution of Intention No. 94 of the Board of Trustees of the said City, be and the same is hereby adjourned until the 9th day of October, 1925, at the hour of 7 :15 o'clock PM Carried. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Anderson, Gerow, Love and Binder. Noes: None. Absent: Trustee Cannon. Yoved by Trustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee Anderson, that 1:ary'Beatteay be and she is hereby granted permission to take the final week of her annual two weeks vacation beginning October 5th, 1925. Vowed by Trustee Love, seconded by Trustee Gerow, that the superintendent of the dater Department be and he is hereby authorized to purchase such quantity of 6" water pipe as is needed in his department at a cost not to exceed V299.00. Absent: '.rustee Cannon, l=oved by Trustee Love, seconded by Trustee Gerow, that the �'Uperintendent of the ater Department be and he is hereby authorized to have nerforwed such labor as may be necessary to lay a 4" cast iron water main from Bonita vista Avenue to Bayonne Street between Palm Avenue and ".gaple t"venue at such point as the City of &l 0egando may now have or subsequently obtain permission so'to do, at a cost not to exceed '150.00. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Anderson, Gerow, Love and Binder. Noes: None. Absent: Trustee Cannon. E"oved by Trustee Gerow, seconded by Trustee Anderson, that the following resolution be adopted: WIMEREAS, on the 28th day of September, 1925, actual con- struction of the sewer system for the Oity of _-Z Segundo was started by the Contractor, R. A. ;lattson; and "I RA 3, the Board of Trustees of the City of Ll Jegundo, having no Previous knowledge that said contractor mould start such work on said date, had not arranged for the employment of any person to inspect said work; and by reason of this circumstance an emergency was created, necessitating the immediate employment of an Inspector; and 71M=7j, the City 4gineer of the said City of El Segundo, did, on the 28th day of September, 1925, employ 'William//C. Bryson as sewer construction inspector at the salary heretofore, on the 25th day of September, 1925, fixed by the Board of Trustees of the City of tl Segundo for sewer inspectors, to- ."lit: 48.00 per day; NOVI TH=ORR, B:; IT HIMOLJ -M, that the action of the City Bhgineer in employing the said V+illiam C. Bryson as sewer con- struction inspector be and the same is hereby ratified, approved and confirmed and that the further employment of the said William C.
